    Ownership didn't really "lose its way" until 2011 when they signed Crawford. Just because they lost in 08 and 09 doesn't mean ownership had lost its way. They have a tv station that needs programming. That's why Tom Werner is there. I don't think Theo or anyone making decisions in 08-09 were doing so based on Sox Appeal. They had a good team in 2010, but got hit hard by injuries.

    True. Pedroia is a team leader who plays excellent defense and plays through injury. Ells shouldn't be paid more than he is.

    Workman and Doubront were lights out in the postseason. Both were better than Taz imo.

    I didn't say dump him in 2011, he wouldn't have passed a physical anyway. I just thought they should have brought in more arms at that deadline.

    He married a girl he knew from Oregon. They live in Arizona. Not sure if they see Boston as a long term home. I doubt he gives the Sox a deal on negotiations.

    He revised it by saying it was 11 teams for Ells and Drew. That also includes 1 call for both Drew and Ells by the Mystery Team.

    When are QO's due? I'd make a QO for Salty, because I think another team will overpay for him. I don't know anything about Tanaka.

    You maximize Xander's value at SS. I wouldn't bring Drew back. I'd rather the money spent elsewhere.

    Ells is a good player, he's not a $20M guy to me and especially not for 6 years. Anything more than 4/80 is too high imo.

    Look, I think Ben thought he was building a team that would contend in the East and compete for a playoff spot. He said over and over that the division was tight and up for grabs. I don't think he thought it was some lost season or bridge year. I guess any conversation where spmeone disagrees is a circlejerk now?

    But it was his opinion on Ben's moves. Larry's moves didn't work out. He didn't think Ben's moves would work out, for selfish reasons of course. Larry was clearly wrong.
