    Not really. Too much $$$. I'd want Salty on a 3 year deal (at most) so that I could transition the younger guys in there in a few years. If they don't get Salty, I'd say give Lavarnway the job this year. If he stinks, bring up Butler. By 2016, I want Vasquez as the primary catcher.

    Salty represents better value than McCan. I haven't seen anywhere that says Salty would take a hometown discount, but it would be nice.

    Salty has to be getting 3/27 at the least, ot he's either giving a massive hometown discount, or has a s***** agent. Reports were that he was upset with the FO over a lack of communication regarding his contract. As long as there is room to slide in one of the kids in 2015, I'm ok with resigning Salty for 3 years. 100 games in 2014, 100 games in 2015, 60 games and time at 1b in 2016?

    He can probably only go 70 games at this point. The question is do they think Lavarnway should be given a shot, maybe Butler? Under Ross' tutelage, both could see defensive improvements in the coming season. Not sure Vasquez is ready to catch 100 games at the MLB level.

    Koji was a starter once. What if Tanaka is just destined to be an MLB reliever. Spending $100M on him would seem foolish to me. Most scouts see his ceiling as a #3, which means there's a lot of wiggle room to fall lower in the rotation and possibly out of it.
