    "To receive compensation, the former team must tender a Qualifying Offer, the player must decline (or not accept) the offer, and the player must sign a major league contract with another major league team before the next year amateur draft. Compensation will be a supplemental round draft pick in the next draft. The supplemental round will be in reverse order of winning percentage from the recently completed season. Teams with multiple picks in the supplemental round will get those picks slotted consecutively. If two teams have the same winning percentage, the preceding seasons winning percentage is the tiebreaker."

    I believe the Yanks would lose their picks, but everyone gets picks for their players lost in the compensation round between the 1st and 2nd. The Sox don't take over the Yanks draft slots, they are just swept under the rug and teams pick in the compensation round. That's my understanding of it.

    I thought he broke up with that chick. Who really cares if the #8 hitter has a hole in his swing but hits 30 hrs? Not me. He plays good defense and is a fine placeholder for Cecchini if he doesn't "figure it out." Even if he doesn't "figure it out," he's still good enough to start on other MLB rosters.

    I don't really care about the blame pie all that much. Just glad they won another WS. Larry is still the worst though.

    I actually blame John Henry too. He said he didn't support the deal and thought CC wasn't a good fit. With that amount of money, he should have stepped in and vetoed it.

    No. It was just a joke because A700 has always hated Theo's moves. The only time he was happy with Theo was when they signed CC. He even changed his avatar to show Theo during that offseason. That move didn't quite work out.

    I kinda feel this way too. He left town leaving behind an overpaid and underproductive roster. If not for Ben's fire sale and amazing yard sale finds, they don't win a WS in 2013. I do kinda wonder what 2012 would have looked like if Ben got to pick the manager.

    And yet there have been no reports that signing him is a priority for the Sox. Maybe they don't think he has the stuff you think he does? Personally, I think they're bidding only to increase the price for the Yanks.

    To me, it seems like the low posting fee will prevent teams from agreeing to let top Japanese players out of their contracts.
