But what's the point in drafting a backup IF in the 1st round? Those players grow on trees. I'd rather waste picks on volatile high ceiling guys.

I had to google who the NBA player was on the Coco Pebbles commercial. Clearly, I have lost interest in the NBA. If there were less fouls and the last two mintues didn't stretch to 20, I'd be able to follow it more.

The Marrero signing was kinda weird. He was projected to have a ceiling of an average SS. For where they drafted him, they would have been better off trying to find a guy with a live arm or power potential.

She's not a reporter! When did she report anything? She just makes 2-3 random remarks throughout the game that usually have nothing to do with baseball. She was just a replaceable pretty face with no substance.

I think you are making a judgement on how Remy's parenting skills are based on the actions of his ADULT children. We're not talking teenagers like Andy Reid's kid. We're talking grown ass individuals who are no longer under the care of their parents. These people weren't in and out of juvy. They are just failed adults, which has little bearing on how they were raised as kids. I've spent more of my life outside of my parents home at this point in my life. If I go out and kill someone tomorrow, it's not because of how I was raised, it's because when I'm on my own I'm a s***** person.

Um, this was the original post. It ignores (a) Peavy, ( that Iggy wouldn't have played in the WS ahead of Drew, © not one talent scout believes Iggy is better than XB, (d) the aftermath of the trade included a WS ring, (e) how unsustainable Iggy's BABIP was, (f) that Detroit gave up a top prospect of their own and (g) that Iggy's defense was subpar on routine plays and it's ignored because of the ESPN highlight plays (he flat out sucked at 3b).

Not debateable. In hindsight you could try to fashion all sorts of incorrect arguments. If Iggy, XB and Drew were all on the roster in the postseason, Iggy doesn't leave the bench.

Best Offense - 03 Best Starters - 86 (only because of Hurst and Clemens being so dominant) Best Bullpen - 13 Best Overall - 04 (solid rotation, great bullpen, offense full of mashers) 03's bullpen left something to be desired.

I would like to see a spot start here and there from the young guys and really hope Vasquez is given a real chance here. I know some people are pining for Butler, but I'd rather see Vasquez called up first.

He wasn't a "key piece," but he was more usefull than Iggy would have been sitting on the bench. XB and Drew were both better options than Iggy when September rolled around.
