  1. Move the Rays to Montreal. Price vs Moore f***ing win this goddamn series!
  2. Didn't he only go 2 innings last time?
  3. I just want Dave Mengden. Moncada straight up. The 'stache is worth it...
  4. A subsequent arm injury is common among pitchers who have had Tommy John surgery. More than half of Major League pitchers who underwent Tommy John surgery from 1999 to 2011 went on the Disabled List with an arm injury after returning from surgery. Another recent study from the American Sports Medicine Institute (ASMI) concluded that 19% of Tommy John patients will have a subsequent elbow surgery and 25% will have shoulder surgery. http://m.mlb.com/pitchsmart/tommy-john-faq/ TJS doesn't reduce the risk for future injury. Sure, they may not get TJS again (though some do), but they are still likely to have future arm/shoulder problems.
  5. Tropicana Field is just the worst. These games look dreary on tv regardless of how the pitching staff is doing. Porcello vs Archer Ortiz usually has had lots of success against this dope. Let's f***ing go!
  6. That doesn't mean he now has an arm that can never be injured. TJS isn't the video game level up that some people on here make it out to be.
  7. This team is still going to be in the Wild Card hunt at the end of September.
  8. Which is why it is a complete s*** show right now. Buchholz shouldn't be starting for any MLB team right now. The problem is that the Sox have struggled year in and year out to develop young pitching. Now the rotation is: highest paid FA from last offseason, downgrade from Lester, flash in the pan knuckleballer, hollowed out shell of Buchholz and trash bag of AAAA starters trying to earn a 5th spot. Is Buchholz the only problem in this rotation? No, and I've never said he was. All along I've stated the following: the Sox needed to grab 2 FA pitchers in the offseason, move on from Buchholz and trade for a third starter once ERod got injured. The rotation should be: Price, FA #2, Porcello, SP trade and Wright.
  9. You would have no one to play RF. Betts and Buchholz (Sox pay entire salary) for Fernandez and Yelich?
  10. But what if HE ONLY HAS ONE BAD INNING? Or just ONE BAD PITCH? I hope you would give weight to the overall numbers and just move on from him after another bad outing. Note: snark not directed at you, Kimmi.
  11. Not for Teheran. Not a chance.
  12. Then why didn't they re-sign Lester prior to the 2014 season? They kept banging the 30+ drum over and over again.
  13. Robbie Ross is fine. He's a completely useful bullpen arm. I don't understand the hate that he receives on here.
  14. Would you trade him for Chris Sale?
  15. That was definitely the time period when John Henry couldn't stop ranting about pitchers older than 30.
  16. So one of the best minor league systems today (with 3-4 untouchable prospects) has no mid-tier prospects?
  17. That's why you don't wait until the trade deadline to make your moves. Making a trade when the other team has you over a barrel is bad business. GET PITCHING IN THE OFFSEASON YOU DUMMIES!
  18. Don't worry, good Clay will show up. You just have to be patient.
  19. Texas is also the best team in the AL right now.
  20. I have no problem with Price, Wright or Porcello. I'm worried that ERod is going to continue to struggle the rest of the way and he was being relied on as a major part of the rotation this year. I think a simple upgrade in the 5th spot would do this team well. Also, riding overly high during a winning streak and overly low during a losing streak is just failing to see the larger picture. I thought this team was an 86-88 win team in the offseason. I still believe they'll wind up there and am happy about it. This is far better than what we suffered through the previous two years.
  21. I pretty much agree. Worrying about someone living up to their contract is a fruitless endeavor. It's about the product on the field, not the payroll.
  22. I recently read a post that stated Buchholz would wind up earning his $13M this year per Fangraphs projections. Blech.
