    Wins don't prove a pitcher's effectiveness. That run was fool's gold which included a 5 inning performance where he gave up 9 hits and 5 earned runs as well as a 2.1 inning masterpiece where he gave up 5 hits and 3 runs.     From today's Herald: For Kelly, who’s on the DL in April for a third consecutive year, this could prove to be a classic case of an avoidable injury that got worse because he didn’t speak up. He said he felt a little off coming into the start, but thought it was typical soreness. “I thought I would be able to get through it,” Kelly said. “Leading up to the start, I thought I would be able to give it a go. I was working on it every single day trying to get ready to go. I went out there and played catch, and obviously playing catch, you really don’t put anything on the ball. You can't build a staff around Kelly and Buchholz since neither of them is able to go every 5th day. Apparently, DUMBrowski had a "pointed" meeting in Farrell's office after the game. This team has the talent to compete for a WC spot, but I don't think the ship's captain has any idea how to get this young team there.
