  1. Yeah, maybe Farrell can stay...
  2. If the Sox really want to win now, they need to follow my Three Point Plan.
  3. 2 years from now, Price will still be a top level talent while Buchholz is out of baseball.
  4. Thanks John!
  5. A chloroform rag addressed to Tom Werner? Oh please, oh please, oh please...
  6. The Angels are up next! Everyone pick up their starters in fantasy!
  7. Golly gee then. I'm so glad about the Red Sox World Series rings from the 1910's! Unless you are a highlander, baseball history from before the age of 8 shouldn't matter to you. Thankfully, when I was growing up in the 80's, the Yankees sucked a big fat one too!
  8. Still more rings over the past 15 years.
  9. As a Red Sox fan, I'm going to really enjoy watching the Yankees compete for last place for the next 3 - 4 years.
  10. I could see Pomeranz, Straily and possibly Gray being made available. The only issue with Gray is that the A's would be selling low on him.
  11. Re: Price I know! WHY HASN'T PEDROIA DONE ANYTHING ABOUT THIS YET??? Needs more mound visits probably.
  12. Those guys aren't typically available at the trade deadline.
  13. Ah yes, the wonders of baseball! The strike zone is like a box of chocolates, you know...
  14. I like him, but we have to be honest with what is a good value to give up. Hill is not durable in the least. If you're bringing a guy in to pitch down the stretch, you need to be sure that he'll take the mound every 5 days at the very least.
  15. A guy on a one year deal who hits the DL annually? Yeah, I'd offer Owens at most.
  16. Red Sox vs. Moore: Ortiz 10-24 (3 HR), Pedroia 5-21, Bogaerts 4-7, Shaw 5-7, Bradley 1-6, Betts 4-6, Ramirez 1-4. Rays vs. Price: Longoria 2-12, Forsythe 2-10, Miller 1-10, Morrison 2-9, Casali 5-8, Arcia 0-6, Jennings 1-6, Beckham 1-5, Franklin 1-4, Conger 1-3. David Price is 1-2 with a 6.75 ERA in four career starts against the Rays. He faced them at Fenway Park on April 21 and allowed eight runs in 3.2 innings.
  17. RED SOX (42-35) Mookie Betts RF Dustin Pedroia 2B Xander Bogaerts SS David Ortiz DH Hanley Ramirez 1B Jackie Bradley Jr. CF Travis Shaw 3B Bryce Brentz LF Christian Vazquez C Pitching: LHP David Price (8-4, 4.68). RAYS (32-44) Logan Forsythe 2B Brad Miller SS Evan Longoria 3B Desmond Jennings CF Brandon Guyer LF Oswaldo Arcia RF Curt Casali C Tim Beckham DH Taylor Motter 1B Pitching: LHP Matt Moore (3-5, 5.04).
  18. We won't get a power bat this offseason. DH will be split between Shaw, HanRam and Pablo. Shaw will get reps at 1b and 3b throughout the season. I'd like to see them grab a #4 starter (Lewis, Iwakuma, Fister) AND pick up a solid veteran like Bud Norris or Bartolo Colon as their 5th starter. We all know that won't happen though.
  19. Didn't know this existed. Thank you for posting.
  20. Yup, it's a clear case of a losing argument. "Uh, well, errr uh, you just don't know what you're talking about." Feel free to enjoy a festering s*** hole like the Bronx. It's fine with me. I've been there. It sucks and stinks like garbage. You can see the half empty move theater seats whenever a game is on. Not sure what I was so wrong about. NYC has a lot of great things. However, the Bronx and the new Yankee Stadium are not included on that list. I'm personally in favor of building a new Fenway Park due to problems with sightlines, obstructed seats, etc. However, I'd still rather sit in the RF seats staring out into CF than have to go to a game in the Bronx. Yuck. Just gross. I know you come on here just to get a rise out of people and not offer anything of substance. That's fine, but don't expect it to impact me at all. "Don't caaaaare..." - Jay Cutler
  21. Yup. They have 3 starters that are good enough to keep this team competitive for the rest of the year. Just need to figure out the last 2 rotation spots.
  22. It's not that clear cut. Each concussion is different. Each person recovers differently. That's the reason that Patrice Bergeron has been able to continue his career whereas Marc Savard will never play again.
  23. No, that's not how it works. Holt is playing in Pawtucket because he can get a few AB's in and come out of a game whenever he needs to. They are bringing him back as slowly as possible. In Boston, he'd be a waste of a roster spot because you can't commit to him for a whole game and you'll never know if he's going to need a few days off.
  24. You do realize that your home field encompasses half empty movie theater seats in a city that smells like hot garbage? The Dodgers were in a better part of town and they had the good sense to move.
