  1. If he's on the roster on 11/1/16, they'll pick up his option. That's all I've ever said. I have never ever ever stated that he would not be traded or DFA'd this season.
  2. YOTN, can we please add the "fire" emoticon please? #newemoticons
  3. Since you struggle with reading comprehension, I was answering Bellhorn's questioning about which specific moves during the 2013 World Series did I disagree with.
  4. Go back to the WS Gamethreads. In Game 1, I said how great Ross had been defensively. In Game 2, I said "Ross in game 3 please. So sick of Salty."
  5. But we'll never really know. He certainly could have played better in my alternate universe.
  6. https://theringer.com/chris-sale-chicago-white-sox-uniform-meltdown-bda0e9f7106c#.3u1ortijg I found the below comment to be rather on point. I remember DLowe being very particular about wearing the ugly Red unis back when he was here. It’s not uncommon for the starting pitcher to choose what uniform his team is going to wear when he starts, and Fox’s Ken Rosenthal reports that this is generally the case with the White Sox. If this were just a guy throwing a fit because he didn’t get his turn to choose what the team watched on TV, that’d be one thing, but if he’s not comfortable pitching in the uniform, that’s a real issue. Pitchers can be temperamental, and pitchers as good as Sale, with deliveries as complicated as his, have a right to be particular about details and routine. Rosenthal further reported that Sale was frustrated with the team valuing marketing over wins and losses. I don’t know if that’s a fair criticism, since the White Sox spent a ton of money on James Shields in the interest of winning now (it didn’t work, but you can’t fault their motives), but Sale’s also entitled to feel that way after the team’s competitive start turned into a 46–50 record through no fault of his own.
  7. You said it yourself. He signed the extension during the playoff year then started playing out his contract like he was Pablo Sandoval. Now that he was cashing the checks, he didn't have to hit in the postseason. It would be interesting to see what he would have hit in the postseason if he had not signed that contract before it.

    The Cubs

Maybe Chapman will beat up Punky Brewster. f*** the Cubs.
  9. I want them to DFA Buchholz. I don't want him here. All I have said was that if he's on the roster at the end of the season, that they'll pick up his option. If Bell wants to refute that with a sig bet, that's fine with me.
  10. I didn't want Salty starting that postseason. That's not second guessing.
  11. They have no problem with bad PR (see 2011 offseason and all the nonsense that went on then). Dumping Farrell wouldn't have hurt TV ratings (they got rid of the popular Orsillo). Dumping Farrell wouldn't have hurt ticket sales (no one goes to Fenway to see the manager).
  12. Mookie's was .994 in AA. After that, they moved him to AAA for 45 games. I don't see why people want to rush Benintendi. He's not really knocking the door down right now.
  13. Mookie had almost 400 chances in the OF last year. It doesn't come down to just plate appearances.
  14. What would you be willing to trade for him?
  15. I would have not given Farrell an extension in the offseason and would have made Lovullo the manager for one.
  16. Gets them back on track!
  17. Because if he's traded or let go, they can't pick up the option. The bet wasn't "will Buchholz be here in 2017 or not?" There's a difference there.
  18. The same sample size that people were drooling over when he started to hit in AA! I was told he'd be hitting .300 by July! Nope!
  19. Sure! Put me in for one month. However, if he is gone before the end of the season (DFA'd or whatever), the bet is null and void.
  20. Ortiz had already played well during the 2002 postseason. Furthermore, Ortiz had twice the amount of hits in the 2003 ALDS as Trout has had in his ENTIRE postseason career. Terrible argument.
  21. Best cold and drizzly day ever.
  22. #neversarcasm This team needs to win as much as they can at home before they spend the majority of the second half on the road. When you have a lead against one of the worst teams in baseball, you need to put them away. They should have gone 3-1 at the very least. That series was inexcusable.
  23. Not hitting for Workman late in the game when Napoli was on the bench. Not moving on from Salty sooner. Sox really needed Ross' defense and Salty's bat wasn't doing enough to keep him in the lineup. Used Gomes over Nava too often. Too slow to get Xander playing time when he played well down the stretch. Drew's bat was terrible and Middlebrooks wasn't doing anything. Salty and Middlebrooks combined to really screw up the end of game 3.
