    The idea that Swihart has "it" solely based on hopes and dreams is very interesting to me. BUT I SAW WITH MY OWN EYES HOW GREAT HIS BAT IS! HIS NUMBERS DON'T MATTER! Armchair scouts are the same type of people who declared Ryan Lavarnway to be "the real deal" in 2011. How'd that work out? Until he hits .800 over the course of a full season, he's not that guy and he shouldn't be expected to be.

    The best use of Swihart's skillset is at C as most C's can't hit very well. If he can be a serviceable C with a .850 bat, you'd be crazy to move him off the position.

    He needs to spend time developing in Pawtucket. Having him sit on the bench or moving him to a new position is NOT the best use of his talent.

    Well, his OPS in 2015 was only .711. It's also not unrealistic to think that he wouldn't hit close to .783 after missing a full season due to injury.

    His bat is ready to be a C, not a 3B or LF.

I still pick up a pack of 1987 Topps every once in a while for the nostalgia. In a few weeks I'll get the itch to buy a bunch of packs of the new Topps Heritage set, but I'll probably never get around to collecting a complete set ever again.

    Swihart should play catcher for all of 2017 in Pawtucket. If it doesn't work out, move him next offseason.

    Yup, not every bunt is meant to be an automatic out. A drag bunt to beat the shift is just as meaningful as a bouncer up the middle.

    The WBC is dumb and I haven't watched an inning since the first WBC. If players want to play, fine. It's no different than playing in a winter league, imo.

    Yup. I agree. His offense is good for a C, s*** for LF.

    How would he beat out Young? Young is a good defender and a great platoon guy. So far, Swihart gets injured in the OF after a few games and is a mediocre hitter at best.
