Yes, Farrell is at fault for moving JBJ up in the order, but at some point you have to make that call with a guy and see if he can succeed somewhere else in the lineup. There is no chance he was getting to 56 anyway.
Farrell is not at fault for Clay. That lies directly in the lap of the FO who decided to not use their brains and picked up Clay's option. What was Farrell supposed to do?
No, that's is just some new stat... It's irrelevant...
I agree. He has a weak bat, but his glove is fantastic. He doesn't have the ceiling of Yadier Molina, but that's ok. I don't expect all my players to wind up in the HOF.
@jared_carrabis The Red Sox are 3-7 when Clay Buchholz pitches (.300), and 26-11 when he doesn't. They have a .703 winning percentage when he doesn't pitch.
@alexspeier 10 homers allowed by Buchholz with runners on base this year, most by any pitcher in the majors.
Just bad luck. This should normalize over the next 15-20 starts!
@redsoxstats Vazquez's hitting velocity ranks 256th in MLB in May. Keeping Ichiro, Hamilton, and Iglesias company at the bottom of the barrel.
I still like him though.
