    With the ongoing health concerns we've had with IFers the past several years, I think IKF is more important than Andujar to this team's roster.

    Since they did away with short season ball, yes. A few years ago, maybe not. He needs to at least go there for a few months IMO. There's a lot of young and inexperienced players at AA now. The product isn't as good as it was a few years ago.

    Hard to really compare the two players TBH. They don't serve the same purpose on the roster.

    Over the previous 25 years, there is only one season where a 90 win team would have been shut out from the current 12 team playoff format: the 2021 Seattle Mariners. Every other team that won 90 games that year would have been in the playoffs.     Samaniego has never pitched in AAA. I don't think he's factoring in anywhere just yet.

    I think it'd be more likely that they'd just piggyback Sandoval with Oviedo for a few weeks TBH and keep Sandoval pitching once every 5 days.

    So many offseasons, we've argued for just one #2 and haven't even gotten there. To get two seemed beyond the pale TBH.

    I don't think people argued going for 2 #2's because the Sox have never gone out and done that kind of thing before. If it was a realistic option in November, you may have some people buy in at that time.

    I have faith they could do just as bad. Josh Hamilton 5/125 Rendon 7/245 Pujols 10/240 Upton 5/106 The Vernon Wells trade was pretty bad too.

    There were key injuries last year and it was fine until it wasn't (Breggie/Anthony).

    In '22 when Trout had 40 HR, Ohtani had 34 (9.6 bWAR with pitching) and Sandoval had an ERA under 3, the rest of the offense was so bad (4 everyday starters under 700) that the Angels were 25th in runs, 24th in defense, 1st in k%. Record was 73-89!

    They were 7th in runs last year. Overall, it was fine.
