  1. If I let you murder YOTN, who would keep this place from turning into Manhattan Island from Escape from New York?
  2. Well, it's a theoretical gift basket since he refuses to publish his home address due to his ongoing war with UN? The best we can do is hiring a skywriter.
  3. All I'm asking is for Pedroia and Papi to not look completely disinterested before the pitch is thrown. It's obvious when they are taking a pitch and would be unable to adjust fast enough if the pitcher just grooved one. Just make it look like you might actually swing for once...
  4. Hey, this post is in regards to prospects, not unwanted trash!
  5. YOTN has spent countless hours making this site more enjoyable for everyone. He deserves a gift basket, not grief.
  6. Yes. The second ERod went down, it was beyond foolish to not grab another starter. I'm not going to keep rehashing my thoughts from this offseason, but yeah...
  7. They shouldn't change their approach, but maybe they should at least pretend that there's a chance they would swing at the first pitch.
  8. It was a joke, hence the "/s" sarcasm tag. I think we all have to remember once in a while that even though we think about the Sox far too often for reasonable adults that all of our combined knowledge wouldn't keep up with even the worst GM's.
  9. Don't worry though. I'm sure you know more about being a GM than Ben the Boob! /s
  10. To start the year, the rotation was Price, Porcello, ERod, Buchholz, Kelly. A lot people questioned the back end of Buch and Kelly. Posters wanted one more solid option to slot in there rather than worrying about question marks for 2/5th's of the rotation. The general consensus was that the depth seemed to be there if you needed to fix the 5th spot in the rotation (Owens, Johnson, Elias, Wright). However, having to fill the hole at 4 AND 5 seemed problematic.
  11. I don't see the Yankees getting far enough above .500 to be a Wild Card factor.
  12. We probably won't ever know what that second offer was from Oakland, but even just seeing that Espinoza was involved in the first does give you a sense of why the Red Sox chose to pull the trigger on Pomeranz. It's true that you can open negotiations with any names you want--the Sox could go to the Twins to ask about Tyler Pressly and have Terry Ryan ask for Mookie Betts and Yoan Moncada in return for all that it really costs Minnesota. But in reality GMs don't waste time with offers that are ridiculously above their actual asking price. http://www.overthemonster.com/2016/7/18/12211480/athletics-wanted-anderson-espinoza-for-rich-hill
  13. It's pretty annoying when Papi and Pedroia barely even get into a stance on the first pitch.
  14. Welp, this game looks like it'll be a turd.
  15. I still haven't heard a good explanation about it. They whined about his age, but paid an older pitcher more a year later. Um, ok?
  16. Jets fans will need to get used to overthrows like that all season.
  17. Are there any teams that feel robbed of a title because of who won the AS game?
  18. And since the Red sox may play the Cubs in the WS, all Cubs talk should be here. Oh, just put all NL talk on this forum because the Sox might play them in the WS.
  19. Ump has a small k zone. He squeezed Chapman and Koji.
  20. What a true Yankee though!
