  1. What else is there to learn about Shaw?
  2. And not to throw anything else in the mix, but the Sox are going to have Hernandez play OF in winter ball.
  3. If both teams have the same number of wins and losses, tie-breaking procedures are used, with no additional games being played. On the other hand, teams tied for the division title will now always play a one-game playoff for the division title, even if both teams are already qualified for the postseason. This is in contrast to the earlier wild card format used, for example in the 2005 season when the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox tied for first place in their division but did not play an additional game as both teams were qualified for the postseason in any event.
  4. Chris Young has never played 1b. Not saying that he couldn't, but there's no guarantee he'd be good at it.
  5. He can't play 3b in AAA? Is playing 3b in AAA all that different from playing it in AA?
  6. What's the difference?
  7. I think he did enough in AA this year to let him start in AAA in 2017. 11 HRs in 45 games, .910 OPS, .379 OBP. Not sure he has much left to prove there.
  8. Double turds!
  9. I hope the Sox can clinch the division over the next few days so that they can give Moncada a few more games. Maybe catch lightning in a bottle?
  10. I'd rather be "anybody" than "nobody."
  11. If we're going to make a run at signing Chapman, may as well sign Reyes too and put him at 3b!
  12. 3b is certainly the biggest question mark going into next season.
  13. If we can rag on people who get their predictions wrong, when those same people can have all the credit when they are right. Kudos to people who can always look on the bright side of life!
  14. Was Max making a joke?
  15. Not sure how you're coming up with "about 20 times a year."
  16. I agree. I tend to focus on observable facts. Farrell is rightfully excoriated for putting Wright in a horrible position. He also deserves whatever platitudes he gets for getting his team to win the division. It's ok to both criticize and laud a manager.
  17. How often did Eck come in to pitch the 8th?
  18. Don't belabor the point counselor.
  19. An O's vs Jays WC game would be a fun hate watch.
  20. Good luck iortiz. Your team was far better suited for the playoffs than mine.
  21. I'll allow it.
  22. http://www.espn.com/mlb/features/cyyoung Not sure if this is really accurate tho.
  23. If Slasher made this prediction prior to the season, it's not noted on this board.
  24. Detroit is playing Cleveland, a team that can rest anyone they want to. After that, they can feast on Atlanta. O's are playing Toronto, a team still fighting for its playoff life (Jays final six games are against Sox and O's). If the Tigers sweep their next series, they are guaranteed to be only a 1/2 game out no matter what happens in the O's and Toronto series.
