    Freedom of expression has no meaning here as this is a private forum and you can be kicked out for any number of reasons and have no legal recourse.     Last night, "sources" were saying it was being slowed in preparation for facing live hitting. Now it's due to "elbow soreness." Consider me shocked. Shocked! As I've said all along, he won't pitch until June (if at all) and will be getting surgery before the season is over.

    OPS doesn't measure everything a player does though. It doesn't factor in running, fielding, throwing, etc. OPS also doesn't normalize jack s***.

    I'm sorry that you have to live near Fauria. He seems like a db. I've heard mixed reviews about Bruschi. I saw Zolak at Chili's in Plainville the last time I went there. That guy is huge. I grew up in Easton and bunch of the players lived in the condos across from the video rental store I'd go to. I remember seeing Irving Fryar checking out some horror movies once. One of Stanley Morgan's daughters was a classmate of mine. It's kinda fun seeing Celtics and Patriots when you go out. The only Sox player I ever saw in Boston was http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/g/grebecr01.shtml at the Cheesecake Factory in Cambridge.

    I don't believe this statement is accurate. Beni looks strong as hell and still growing into his body. Betts has even stated that he is slower than Beni.

    All baseball stats have some sort of measure that can be skewed. RBI's are a function of runners on base and opportunities. HR's can be a function of the park you play in. Fielding % is based on the whims of a score keeper. There are issues with the way WAR is calculated (especially since there isn't only one calculation for WAR). There is no one true stat that determines a player's value. You need to look at everything. Now that Topps puts WAR on the back of baseball cards, maybe it shouldn't be treated like a bogeyman anymore. It's just another stat that you can choose to value or disregard.

    I'd be higher on JBJ if he was more consistent at the plate. He's the greatest Sox OF since Evans, but I still don't trust his bat. That's why he's the last of the B's I'd want to sign long term.
