  1. Chris Young stinks and is old, amirite?
  2. Johnson needs a longer look at this level.
  3. Silverman: Source: Red Sox are not close to deal w White Sox for Todd Frazier. And as of tonight, they are not close to deal for another third baseman.
  4. He's a Chicago reporter. Probably has better contacts inthat clubhouse.
  5. From twitter: The Yankees are the team closest to getting a deal done with Chicago Wh Sox Robertson-Frazier and Kahnle going if deal completed
  6. This is only the 3rd time Hanley will have started a game at 1b this year. He's only logged 12 innings so far.
  7. @PeteAbe New look: Betts RF, Benintendi LF, Pedroia 2B, Ramirez 1B, Young DH, Bogaerts SS, Bradley Jr. CF, Leon C, Marrero 3B, and Johnson LHP.
  8. I know someone that could help
  9. Not surprising since the fan favorite retired. Last year, Sox were up 33% from 2015 (probably due to Oritz retirement and Sox staying in contention).
  10. This year's league average is only a partial season. The league is on pace to match last year's average.
  11. Austin Maddox. He's pitched well this year and is on the 40 man roster.
  12. Yes, per Sox Prospects.
  13. What it says to me is that they seem to be aggressive to a fault. I think there is a way to run aggressively without running foolishly. Seems they are no longer toeing the line between aggressive and foolish. Whether they are pressing for offense, the players just doing whatever they want or an organizational philosophy, it doesn't seem to be working at the moment.
  14. They are on pace to have the worst OOB since before 2010. Ouch.
  15. https://www.baseball-reference.com/leagues/MLB/2017-baserunning-batting.shtml Boston leads MLB in OOB (Outs On Base, i.e. outs while making a baserunning play) with 47. The next two are 41 and 40. League Average is 29. Arizona has the best rate and has only run into 17 outs (thanks Lovullo).
  16. I don't think the concern is about stealing bases. I think it has more to do with how they run the bases when the ball is in play.
  17. I figured as much. To me, as long as your best hitters are towards the top of the lineup, we shouldn't be picking nits.

  19. Red Sox need some of that good ol' kimmi mojo for the next gamethread.
  20. Holliday/Logan Morrison/Mark Reynolds as DH replacement for Hanley? https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/08/2017-18-mlb-free-agent-list.html
  21. Whoops, I was looking at the 18-19 offseason.
  22. DFA Hanley in the offseason. Sign Smoak/Cruz/Gattis as a FA?
