After the Price incident, Eckersley received apologies from owner John Henry, chairman Tom Werner, CEO Sam Kennedy, and president of baseball ops Dave Dombrowski—but nothing from Price or manager John Farrell.
Girl bye.
Indications are that he will be the club’s primary third baseman against right-handed pitchers, with Deven Marrero continuing to man the position against left-handers.
Honestly, IF there really is an issue, the problem now resides with Farrell. If his onfield moves don't matter, he at least needs to manage the airplane travel, no?
1. How does fielding get more difficult in MLB?
2. Not many people care about Fielding % anymore. Most scouts think his defense is good enough now and is still improving.
They spent so much effort stating that he wouldn't be called up until he was ready that it makes no sense to call him up now if he's not ready.
He's ready. He can hit AAA pitching. There's nothing else for him to learn down there.
He has done a pretty good job. The only straight up failure was the Travis Shaw trade. However, Shaw looked horrible during the 2nd half of last year. No one was upset when he was traded.
