    Yes, that would be fine. I'm not trying to tell off anyone. Just suggesting that there are better spots for certain conversations. I'm not sure Shaun Anderson talk would generate much traction in this thread.

    I don't think it'll happen either. I also think that some other posters who think he'll do great are just pretending. Otherwise, Pom wouldn't have been on our fantasy waiver wire at the start of the season.

If they aren't going to be on the roster in 2017, general comments about prospects should go there. 1. It will generate more meaningful discussion as it won't get buried by MLB stuff 2. It's less clutter for the MLB board

    The system has been really poor on pitching for as long as I can remember. They had a good stretch from 04 - 08, but it's been absolute s*** for most of my lifetime.

    They don't need to have high draft picks to build up a farm system. Ben and Theo were able to without many high draft picks. Why can't DD? It's still a lot of the same scouts, right?

    1. It's how this team was built in the first place. 2. DD isn't the chump you make him out to be. For the Tigers, he drafted Verlander, Maybin, Andrew Miller, Porcello (27th pick), Castellanos. His history of trades is very good http://www.baseball-reference.com/bullpen/Dave_Dombrowski.

    There wasn't one person on here who was outright nasty to Ben. A700 called him a "boob" and didn't believe he'd ever be a GM again. If that's "nasty" you must have a very weak stomach.

    That's fine, but don't act like the farm system can't ever be built up again if they want it to be.

    Why? It's how they built the organization before. Thinking that dropping down 10+ picks is going to kill the franchise is kinda ridiculous. No, there isn't an immediate fix, but there doesn't need to be. We have until 2022 until our farm needs to be great again. I'm pretty sure that if they make the right picks and sign the right guys that they'll be able to be just as good as they were prior to the DD trades.

    It was really the Boston Globe that turned on those two, not the fans. Tito will always be my manager. Theo has been proven to be one of the all time greats at building an organization. It's a shame that this FO decided to keep Larry instead.

    "Shows plus potential" is different than is a plus pitch. He has little to no control over it. I'm glad they got Sale for him.

    It's not a myth. I've seen enough games to know when a guys is being pitched around and when he's not. Not every hitter is being pitched around. It only happens in some circumstances. Just because their conclusion was that it doesn't exist, doesn't mean the methodology used was correct.

    Sidney Ponson started 223 games for this team. This f***wad was arrested for assaulting a judge and had 2 DWI arrests all in the span of 12 months. f*** the Orioles.

    He has a straight fastball with poor secondary pitches and control issues. I'm not sure he'll be in the MLB very soon.

    This is how I feel as well. That's the best he's looked since the trade. If he can have a hot first half like he did last year, I'll be proven wrong.

    Not fact. DD seemed to have a really good draft last year. Groome Chatham Anderson Dalbac Shawaryn That's really good so far for the first 5 rounds. Now he'll be able to grab international guys too. And losing guys like Guerra/Basabe/Asuaje/Allen/Diaz/Light/Rijo will have zero impact on the MLB roster.
