Ian Kinsler gets it.
Ian Kinsler said he hasn't heard from MLB about getting tossed last night. He then said Angel Hernandez needs to re-evaluate his career. "It has to do with changing the game. He's changing the game. He needs to find another job. He really does. I'm just saying it's pretty obvious that he needs to stop ruining baseball games."
Angel Hernandez is the worst.
Bogey was putting the bat on the ball last night. He just needs to work his way through it. Moreland is just a mediocre hitter that is easily replaceable.
@alexspeier
Farrell described Devers' defense as 'better than anticipated,' suggesting that he's been 'solid average to a tick above.'
Well, he does have a positive defensive WAR.
@bradfo
I don't know if I've ever said this publicly: the Red Sox should have signed Edwin Encarnacion
I'm now changing my mind, the Sox don't need EE. f*** Rob Bradford.
Lin can play CF if needed. Combined, Nunez and Lin could cover all defensive spots except for C. It would be enough to sneak Brentz onto the roster. I would like Hernandez more if I thought he brought a glove to the field.
Pedey has and I mean it when I say it great leadership skills and I mean bigly leadership skills you never saw those skills from previous second basemen but he's doing this everyday everyday great people are saying this the greatest people are saying this he's got tremendous leadership skills.
The upper echelon of players don't tend to spend a long time in AAA (see: Trout, Harper, Bryant, Stanton). It's very atypical for a player to become a top tier player, but not unusual.
So if the other players are "doing what they're doing," but the Sox have gained almost an extra run per game by adding a big bat to their lineup, maybe EE was needed earlier in the season when they couldn't score any runs?
I don't think he's going to OPS 1.000+ every year. He's great, but not infallible. Just enjoy the ride. No reason to fret over being patient when he's knocking the cover off the ball now.
I don't know of any fans that have ever gotten sand in their underpants about the value of wins or saves unless it impacted their fantasy baseball stats.
It seems to be going pretty good now, which shows to me that they really needed EE's bat from April - mid July. It seems to be the missing ingredient in the formula that cause the Sox to not play very well for long stretches in the first part of the season.
