  1. Brady Singer is not on par with Joe Ryan. Singer is at the Merrill Kelly level.
  2. The President of the American League, Ban Johnson.
  3. They had to trade their franchise player because they couldn't afford him. 🫠
  4. Some bingo hall probably.
  5. You don't like 959 OPS vs LHP I guess?
  6. Schwarber's swing is also tailor made for Citizens Bank Park (31.1% pull AIR, 128 LHB HR park factor). It wouldn't work as well at Fenway (87 park factor).
  7. Most likely. Ward was in all the reports ahead of the draft as a guy that was going to get selected early on. It was a surprise when he wasn't protected or traded ahead of the deadline.
  8. If Rafaela was there, it would have turned into even more runs. Probably would have bounced off his head and into the stands. It's why Rafaela should be in RF and not CF. Come to think of it... they do need a 2b...
  9. IF they signed Polanco for 3B, it would just be a Mayer/Romy platoon at 2b.
  10. Also, it's very hard to project bumps for DSL pitchers heading stateside, so I was staying away from those guys (see: Dalvinson Reyes '24 vs '25).
  11. If you like Brandon Neely, you should see the ridiculous clip of him getting tossed from game at UF. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jm_ewpSg41Y Hard to really know what to think about Neely and Phillips yet as we haven't seen them (AFL doesn't count). Phillips seems to be a high variance guy. Neely could just be a reliever. I like both of them though.
  12. Keeps the Sox in playoff contention, but nothing more.
  13. 2025: Ryan - 171 IP, 10.21 K/9, 2.05 bb/9, 3.42 ERA, 3.70 xFIP, 3.1 fWAR Giolito - 145 IP, 7.51 K/9, 3.48 bb/9, 3.41 ERA, 4.59 xFIP, 2.0 fWAR Bello - 166.2 IP, 6.70 K/9, 3.19 bb/9, 3.35 ERA, 4.39 xFIP, 1.9 fWAR If you think Bello is a 3, then Giolito is a 3. Ryan is better than Giolito by almost every metric (k rate, bb rate, whatever).
  14. The Sox SHOULDN'T have those concerns. Somehow they do and we talk about it all the time.
  15. Two years later, they were in the ALCS without really adding to the team though. Seems like they just needed to run it back?
  16. I think Breslow would prefer if Kelly was his 3 and someone younger with a higher whiff rate as his 2.
  17. Does he need another 5th starter?
  18. Mullins is a high injury risk and further away than Drohan and Uberstine. The guys protected this season could all contribute early on this season. Mullins still has work to do. Drohan and Uberstine could still be called up for an emergency start, but Mullins is probably a relief profile by the time he gets to MLB. Drohan has injury issues too, but has a good k rate and whiff rate. Uberstine is the more clear emergency call up for a starter guy. Mullins is just behind them.
  19. Could have traded him for a DSL flier. Would have been better than nothing.
  20. Yes, the Red Sox have been at the bottom of MLB in errors every year. They can't go backwards with their defense if they are serious about contending going forward.
  21. Tampa did it in '19, '22 and '24. They have had a lot of those UTIL type guys who play multiple positions. They would also rather NOT pay for a DH if they didn't have to. Because of the Chaim connection, people thought the Sox would kinda go that way at some point, but the Masa move took that off the table.
  22. Either get a legit #2 or what's the point in bothering? You're just adding a more expensive guy that isn't providing much upside.
  23. There's the idea that it's better to rotate guys through DH to give everyone a rest. You really need to have the right lineup for the that to work though. I'd rather have a big hitter taking up that spot 150 games a year. David Ortiz JD Martinez Canseco Baylor Cooper
  24. I've been the one guy NOT assuming he starts in Boston. 😐
