  1. I don't remember ANY scouting reports saying he'd provide stellar defense. Most said he'd be moved off the position for being too big.
  2. Bumped for the moon man.
  3. They are dumping Hanley.
  4. If he moves on to another team, THE SOX DON'T HAVE TO PAY ANYTHING FOR 2019 NO MATTER WHAT. - Alex Speier
  5. I get the anger about Burfict, but the Steelers have played along with that s***** brand of football for decades. Smash mouth football and JACKED UP HITS are over. It's time for 7 on 7 or something that won't cause so many former players to get CTE and kill themselves or others.
  6. I'd rather: Moreland - 1b JD - DH HRam unconditionally released
  7. It's not one deal that will cripple this team, it's if they make multiple crippling deals (i.e. overpay for Hosmer and JD and still have to worry about Price sitting on the DL).
  8. Why salary cap hell? You think Xander and JBJ are still going to break the bank?
  9. He's a discount Hosmer who played very well when not dealing with a broken toe.
  10. Plus a useless Rusney Castillo. Remember trading a top end starter for Allen Craig? Woof. Dombrowski has cleared out a lot of prospects, but don't @ me until he starts making the bad Ben deals.
  11. Dump HRam in ST. It's only a 1 year hit for the salary.
  12. They'll be ready when we need them to be ready. I'd rather have Sale, Kimbrel and Pomeranz than what we gave up.
  13. I loved watching JuJu at USC. Sad that going to the Steelers turned him into a dingleberry. I'm glad I don't have to watch much AFC North nonsense. I would have stopped watching football a long time ago.
  14. Anyone else remember watching this game? https://www.upi.com/Archives/1985/09/18/Rich-Gedman-hit-for-the-cycle-going-4-for-5-and/8638495864000/ Rich Gedman hit for the cycle, going 4-for-5 and driving in seven runs Wednesday night, to pace Boston's 18-hit attack and carry the Red Sox to a 13-1 thrashing of the American League East-leading Toronto Blue Jays. Despite the loss, the Blue Jays remained five games ahead of the New York Yankees, who lost 5-2 to Detroit. Al Nipper, 9-11, scattered six hits, struck out five and did not walk a batter in posting his fifth complete game of the season. Wade Boggs also went 4-for-5 to raise his major league-leading average to .372 and his leading hit total to 219 -- the most in the majors since Willie Wilson's 230 for Kansas City in 1980. Leading 4-0 in the fourth, the Red Sox erupted for five runs to knock out reliever Dennis Lamp. Glenn Hoffman started the uprising with a walk and Boggs followed with a one-out single. Bill Buckner singled to score Hoffman. Lamp intentionally walked Jim Rice to load the bases and was then replaced by John Cerutti. Gedman's line to left eluded George Bell, who attempted a shoestring catch, and rolled to the wall for a three-run triple. Marty Barrett drove in Gedman with a two-out single to make it 9-0. Boston opened the scoring with three runs in the second off loser Jim Clancy, 7-5. Hoffman had a sacrifice fly, Evans belted an RBI double and Boggs hit an RBI single for the 3-0 lead. Boston went ahead 4-0 when Gedman blasted his 18th homer, in the third. Gedman's fifth RBI of the night, on an infield hit, scored Buckner for a 10-0 lead in the fifth. The Blue Jays broke the shutout on Louis Thornton's RBI single in the seventh, but Rice's RBI double and Gedman's two-run double in the bottom of the inning accounted for the final margin.
  15. Second best Catcher or second best anything? Gedman 84-86 >>> Tek 03-05
  16. He was stable, but overrated.
  17. He was good, but still overrated.
  18. That C on the jersey didn't translate well into the clubhouse when he was too busy fussing over who was banging his side chick. Overrated.
  19. When someone writes: "In RF- Mookie Betts proved he wasn't ready to be the man in the lineup, but he is still a great player. His defense grades out better than Bradley's eerily enough. He also has put up 18.1 WAR in his 3 seasons in the bigs. That is awesome. He has also played 145 games or more in all 3 seasons. Anyone considering moving him is an idiot." You can dismiss the rest of the post. Dude is a perennial MVP.
  20. Uh, wut? I don't think he boxed himself in at all. Finding a replacement DH is even easier than finding a 1b that can field the position.
  21. I believe Theo would have learned from his mistake and not signed Hanley or Pablo.
  22. No doubt. Effffffffffffffffffffff Larry.
  23. Both promoted to the bigs by Delusional Dave. I'm still taking my Devers victory lap from last year after everyone told me he wouldn't impact the big league roster. BRB.
