  1. Cubs aren't required to sweep the Marlins, just the Sox for some reason.
  2. It looks a lot better than it does now, especially after you replace Kelly with ANYONE else.
  3. 41 games, 6.20 ERA. He failed.
  4. The closer role is a real weird one. Stat heads believe anyone can close at any time for the most part. However, we saw first hand that Melancon couldn't get the job done here, but has succeeded elsewhere. To me, we've found a guy who has thrived in BOS as a closer and I think you do whatever you can to retain him. If you don't need to reinvent the wheel, don't.
  5. It's fine. I know everyone gets frustrated once in a while and that's ok. Just for some reason, that word was posted a ton yesterday and it felt out of place.
  6. The problem is that they complained that the batter bunted against the shift. If you're going to shift against a batter, I don't think bunting is the end of the world. It's not any more cheap than shifting against a batter.
  7. How can you possibly be mad? They just won 5 in a row.
  8. Yup. Sometimes new things are scary and weird. I'm glad that Cora has been empowered to be different and make this team his own. A lot of times, Farrell was seen as a puppet of the GM and not really able to take control of the team. This year, it's really evident that Cora is pulling a lot of strings (Poyner, Walden, resting players, early hooks, etc.).
  9. Everytime you say "tard" it really invalidates any good point you are trying to make.
  10. Cora is determined to rest his players this year. Easing them into the season isn't a bad idea IMO. And you can't argue with the results so far.
  11. I'm not sure if Pom will be ready by then. We'll see.
  12. Cora should’ve hit for the cycle today.
  13. Why do you all hate Sale so much? The jersey thing was standing up for his team. He spent the offseason working with Groome. By all accounts, he’s a model teammate.
  14. I was born yesterday. That means I'm part of the iGeneration.
  15. @PeteAbe Just a regular day off for Mookie Betts. “Bad for fantasy teams,” Cora said. We'll see if Thunder mojo can overcome it. The longest winning streak ever is 22. I want the Sox to go all April without losing.
  16. At least I'm still young, I guess.
  17. Who was questioning your post?
  18. @drewsilv Week 1 Power Rankings are up at @Rotoworld_BB ... 1. Astros 2. Nationals 3. Red Sox 4. Yankees 5. Cubs 6. Dodgers 7. Guardians
  19. If Kapler was the coach, there'd be so much more to discuss on here!
  20. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/split.fcgi?id=kellyjo05&year=2017&t=p I think I was confused by how horrible Baseball Ref writes stuff. That's why I typically only read Fangraphs. Fool me once Baseball Ref. Shame on me. Fool me twice? We won't get fooled again.
  21. Damn. If it's a quick one, I'll miss the whole thing. Oh well.
  22. Sox going back to back to back against the greatest AAAA team ever created.
  23. I'm still going to buy a Cora shirsey. Not a red one though. Whenever I buy a red one, the guy is off the team the following year.
  24. I was making fun of the people getting worked up the first week of the season. To me, it takes a month or two for everything to work itself out. I try not to freak out before Memorial Day. Somehow, I think a lot of posters will hold losing game 1 of a 162 game season over Cora's head for the rest of the year.
  25. Kelly in 2017: High Leverage - 41 sOPS+ Medium Leverage - 37 sOPS+ 100 sOPS+ is average, above is good, below is bad.
