  1. Sexy
  2. Looks at list... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baseball_America_College_Player_of_the_Year_Award Yeah, that's pretty much a gimmie pick.
  3. Sure, but that has no bearing on whether the trade was worth it back in 2016.
  4. That's true. And for the same reasons I don't like Buchholz, Pomeranz can take his act elsewhere.
  5. When that dingle berry got banned from TS.
  6. Don't worry everyone. I'm sure my team will just bomb in the playoffs the same way it always does.
  7. If he's a terrible catcher, why is his dWAR higher than Vazquez'?
  8. Most Boston fans don't pay attention to the NL.
  9. I'd be perfectly happy if he was just a replacement level bat. His current year average/obp/slg are all career lows (2015 on, I don't count 2014 era JBJ). The past two seasons, he's underperformed his projections. If DD decided to sign him to a long term deal, I'd be fine with it. I just wish he didn't have those crazy slumps.
  10. Considering what we know about Steven's home life, this statement is incorrect.
  11. I'm just the mirror image of you then. You don't care if he hits .100. You've said it over and over again. No harm in me saying the opposite.
  12. That's all I was saying.
  13. Basically the same roster that wasn’t Farrell proof...
  14. After reading this article, I'm 100% on board the Phillips hype train: http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/red_sox/2018/09/silverman_veteran_brandon_phillips_can_t_stop_smiling_after_getting_call_to
  15. Sox should retire number 0.
  16. I think if he finishes strong, he'll consider coming back next year. They already updated his wiki: Phillips was added to Boston's active roster on September 4[39] and made his debut with the Red Sox the following day. In that September 5, 2018 game, he hit a 2-run home run in the 9th inning to carry the Red Sox to a 9-8 victory over the Atlanta Braves, leading the team to its 97th win of the season, completing a comeback from Atlanta's 7-1 and 8-7 leads late in the game.[40]
  17. In the playoffs, defensive replacements and pinch hitting are more important than the 11th and 12th guy in the pen.
  18. Or he could just retire and walk off into the sunset after that HR.
  19. For a player to be eligible for the postseason active roster, he must have either been on his club's expanded roster or disabled list as of midnight ET on August 31 of that year and not placed on the 60 day disabled list after August 1.[4] The one exception is for replacing players on the disabled list. Since the 2014 season, an injured player eligible for postseason play may be replaced by any player within his club's organization, including players assigned to the club's minor league affiliates who are not on the major league 40-man roster. Prior to 2014, only players who were on a club's 40-man roster (including those added to the expanded roster after August 31, who would not otherwise be eligible for the postseason) at the conclusion of the regular season were eligible to replace injured players on postseason rosters. The 2015 Kansas City Royals were the first club to exploit this new provision when they added Adalberto Mondesí—who at the time was assigned to the Royals' Double-A affiliate and was not on the 40-man roster—to their World Series roster.
  20. I don't believe it works that way.
  21. Everyone should. I might be an acquired taste, but I'm worth it.
  22. There are roster exemptions for players on the 60 day DL. They can sneak him onto the roster because of Pedroia/Marco Hernandez.
  23. He walked through that door!
