Also, wrong since since Bum's contract is backloaded, so it's cheaper in the next couple of seasons. They could move him afterwards.

The FA's making big bucks are far younger with much higher upside than Price. His contract doesn't look like an albatross if you compare it to Cole's contract? That's like saying "Myers contract isn't bad if you look at how much Trout is being paid."

    What if you're watching a bunch of younger guys that could be the foundation of our team going forward rather than just FA retreads. Wouldn't that make it a more exciting 75 win season?

    I have seen fans of other teams thinking there are about 10 teams that could be interested in Price. I’d just be surprised at a move.

    Seems like Preller actually wants Mookie though... Red Sox Stats SD is focused on trading for pitching, but this says general manager AJ Preller has discussed a Mookie Betts trade, along with other big name players from around baseball.

    Bye Mookie. Bye JBJ. You'd actually get something of value in return for those guys. If they don't want to sign either long term, they need to move them (if they really are just punting this season). Maybe they are just waiting until after Xmas at Fenway and most of the tix are sold? IDK.

    Bloom's been fine so far. We won in 2013 and 2018 so I don't care if they have to take a short term hit. I just don't want them to replicate 2012, 2014 and 2015.

    Seems like there's probably a better way to save 12M AAV than moving Price.

    I tend to agree. I know a lot of people in RI complain that the PAWSOX stopped drawing years ago, but they are always in the top 25 of total attendance for all of MiLB. You see what you want to see and you hear what you want to hear.
