  1. What's your definition of good? I already said he'd have 6 great years, 3 decent ones and the rest could be a mixed bag.
  2. If the Sox signed him with an AAV of about 35M, it'd be less than 20% of team payroll. Any team in the top 5 of payroll could sign Mookie at that and have it be less than 20%.
  3. Anything could happen to anyone at any time.
  4. I can do ST. Dewey can do from April on.
  5. From what I've heard, the people who stayed in Cuba are happy. They'd just have a better life if the US didn't have an embargo with them and that's not Cuba's fault.
  6. I really believe you!
  7. Jacko, any idea about a prognosis concerning what is noted below: Club officials say there is no concern with the 23-year-old’s health long term, but initially nobody thought his injury was this serious. The Dodgers have been vague about Verdugo’s specific diagnosis, which has included lower back soreness and a right oblique strain. Manager Dave Roberts said Verdugo first felt back discomfort after playing on the artificial surface at Tropicana Field against the Rays in late May. He was batting .311 with an .869 OPS at the time, having replaced the injured Pollock in center field. He continued to play through the discomfort, but his production dropped off noticeably from mid-July on, when he finished 11-for-53 (.208) with one home run and one RBI before going on the injured list on Aug. 6 with what was listed as a right oblique strain. After rehabbing in Arizona, Verdugo seemed to be nearing a return when he suffered a setback during a Minor League rehab assignment with Ogden. “Rehab is going good,” Verdugo said. “It’s just really about stacking together really good days. Keep testing it, incorporating more workouts in my routine. It’s about how I recover and come back the next day. If I’m sore, what am I feeling? We’re on a good pace right now with what we’re trying to do.”
  8. Nope. Betts is only under 1 year of control.
  9. I don't care about his money. I just know it seems like he doesn't want to spend it anymore. Just being realistic.
  10. I guess if they're willing to pay him.
  11. If he signed with the Steelers, it'd be interesting to hear Steelers' fans change their tune about him.
  12. Chavis contributed last year, no? Doesn't that count as a contributor for 2019? If Chavis continues to slow down, Dalbec will more than likely be given a shot.
  13. I believe Mookie is worth more than double Price, both on and off the field.
  14. Chavis and Hernandez will be on the opening day roster. Dalbec will contribute at some point this year. Long shots for what? Long shots to contribute? Nope. Long shots to make the All Star team? Sure.
  15. Because they still need to field a team in AAA. Maybe they just want to give him another full year of being healthy and see if he can't get at it again? Lin will be on the roster for the long haul because he has no options, unless they believe they can sneak him through waivers right before the season starts when all the rosters are full. Marco is well behind Lin at 2b IMO. I think he's behind Chatham, Chavis and de la Guerra too. If they end up trying to stash Arauz for the whole year, we won't be seeing Marco no matter what.
  16. I'm sure you've met a ton.
  17. It's weird to me because I don't see why the Dodgers would want or need Price. They have great pitching depth already.
  18. Casas and Dalbec will be playing hot potato with 1b and DH. Maybe they'll even try to work Dalbec into LF? I'm not a believer in Chavis at all. Maybe he can be Jeff Kentish at 2b, but I really doubt it.
  19. I don't think we see Marco again. There's a reason Bloom DFA'd him.
  20. I'd rather have a few high level prospects that are close to ready than a stacked farm that can't help you this year and may never get close enough anyway.
  21. No more bad contracts please. That's how we got in this mess.
  22. I'm here for it. Let's get weird.
  23. They are treating 2b the way a lot of teams treat RP's. Just through s*** at the wall and see what sticks. As we've seen from FA this year, there are a bunch of light hitting good glove 2b's available for cheap. It's not a position that I'd call a "black hole" or something that couldn't easily be fixed in a minor trade.
  24. Yeah, I'm really really not into bringing Seager over on a short term deal since it doesn't look like they are trying to get a pennant this year. Seems like a waste or a PR move.
