  1. Slated for two innings or 35 pitches against Glendale, Perales showcased live stuff but had trouble locating it. He walked three of the seven batters he faced while delivering 17 of his 33 pitches for strikes in a 7-3 Rafters win. Perales' fastball parked at 99 mph and peaked at 101, though it generated just one swing-and-miss in 13 opportunities. The best offering by the Red Sox No. 9 prospect was a cutter that ranged from 86-94 mph, including one at 91 that caught Ryan Galanie (White Sox) looking for a strikeout. His 85-88 mph slider wasn't sharp but his lone changeup provided a swinging K of Travis Honeyman (Cardinals) at 86 mph. "It just felt good being out there competing and just kind of building off of that," Perales said via translator/Rafters pitching coach Tyler Mark (D-backs). "I felt good, felt strong. The cutter is one of my better secondaries, so just seeing it perform today felt good. It also was just kind of a testament to the hard work I put in during the rehab and on to right now."
  2. I'm fine with the Ryan trade because of Mayer's ongoing health issues. I don't really like the Duran trade because I'm also leery of Salas's future.
  3. Agree about Anthony/Mayer/Narvaez.
  4. Since 2021, he's 2nd worst in FRV for all players at -66.5 behind Nick Castellanos.
  5. Maybe Alonso should be a DH? Alonso: 10 errors, -9 DRS, -9 OAA, 26th in FRV BOS all: 10 errors, -9 DRS, -6 OAA, 24th in FRV
  6. 23-25 Casas: 13% BB, 27% K, 347 OBP Soto: 18% BB, 18% K, 408 OBP Casas's profile is closer to what Campbell did in MLB this season than Soto. A better comp could be Anthony, except that Anthony may have a better swing path with more hard contact. Both patient hitters. Casas has a much higher FB rate leading to easier outs in Fenway's expansive RF.
  7. Would need a 300 game schedule for that to happen. 🤕
  8. Save those "expected for ST" takes for when Jan/Feb rolls around and those guys are still hobbling around.
  9. Refsnyder and Wilson, but they probably just bring back Refsnyder.
  10. Duran plus eating Hicks is not getting a 2 WAR OFer, a backup C and a lottery ticket AA SS. Not enough meat on the bone due to adding Hicks.
  11. Based on what the "models" probably say about Rafaela's contract, there is no way he gets traded by Breslow. He is probably a favored contract because of the defensive value.
  12. Mets would have been better off splitting Soto's contract in half and signing two guys. More likely that they get into the playoffs that way TBH. Soto is too passive of a hitter and needs to be surrounded by guys that are gonna swing it.
  13. "Went over the CBT in '25. Need to reset in '26." - Vlad Dracul
  14. Breslow totally going to trade away 2 OFers, a 1b and a DH in one offseason to clear room for a DH and a 1B. Will still need to find a 3b or 2b too! Hope he can hire that GM quickly because he's got work to do.
  15. "Blake's pitched some of the biggest outs, innings, in the postseason for us. And felt really confident right there. And with Vesia behind him if needed." - Dave Roberts Kind of just went by feel. ESPN had an article on the rollercoaster season Sasaki has had. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/46488389/mlb-playoffs-2025-los-angeles-dodgers-roki-sasaki-closer-delivery-transformation
  16. Devers was a top 20 hitter over the past 4 seasons. FA's in that range: Schwarber, Alonso, Tucker. How much do the Sox want to pay to replace that production? "But we already extended his replacement (Anthony)." - Brezzz
  17. https://www.mlb.com/gameday/desert-dogs-vs-rafters/2025/10/07/825635/preview Luis Perales opens up the Arizona Fall League this afternoon.
  18. Sure, they are better. How much?
  19. https://www.fangraphs.com/roster-resource/free-agent-tracker?undefined&pos=rp They probably don't go for a big name like Devin Williams, but I could see them grabbing a guy like Seranthony Dominguez (lots of k's, lots of bb's), a LHP with good offspeed stuff like Gregory Soto, or an all purpose guy like Jalen Beeks.
  20. They lose Matz and Wilson. Sox replace one of them via FA for sure.
  21. No clue. Haven't paid much attention to other teams this year TBH. Been too busy.
  22. All 5 of them messed up (Brezzz, Cora, Henry, Raffy, Sam). Raffy ended up being unhappy. Fans are happy with him in SF.
  23. It's just weird to mention 2b and follow it up with Bregman being compliant even though he didn't even practice one rep at 2b. 🫠
