  1. What about at home surgery?
  2. @baseball_ref Hi everyone! With baseball on hiatus, we are going to use @ootpbaseball to run a simulation of the 2020 season and post the stats on a special section of our site so you can follow along! However, there are a couple logistical Qs about trades & FAs that we need YOUR HELP deciding Anyone else ever use Out of the Park Baseball?
  3. Knowing Henry? Maybe.
  4. I Betts only gets 6/90, the economy has completely collapsed or Mookie has a serious health concern.
  5. Alanis Morissette: "it's like getting COVID when you just went for Tommy John."
  6. A shortened season means one good winning streak and you could win the division.
  7. No Sale, plus a worse EROD = under .500.
  8. Houston set up the cheating system before Cora got there. We haven't seen the cheating evidence against the Sox yet.
  9. Rotoworld rankings: 22. Boston Red Sox First the Red Sox traded one of the best players they have ever drafted and developed in Mookie Betts, then word came down in mid-March that staff ace Chris Sale needs Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery and will be sidelined through the early part of 2021. It has been a rough couple of months in Boston, what with Tom Brady also leaving the Patriots. There is still some firepower in the Red Sox lineup between Rafael Devers, Xander Bogaerts, J.D. Martinez, and Andrew Benintendi, but the starting pitching looks highly suspect beyond Eduardo Rodriguez.
  10. First comes the technology assistance. Then comes the cybernetic implants. Then comes the robot overlords.
  11. It's clear that Kabloom has a few more months to figure out the rotation.
  12. Speier “ On what would have been Opening Day, the Red Sox project (per Fangraphs) as a sub-.500 team after a brutal offseason and spring. But projections aren't certainties. How could they beat that forecast?”
  13. Happy Opening Day everyone!
  14. It was great before 9/11 when you could bring bags and coolers in the stadium. I never liked Pac Bell/At&T/whatever the Giants stadium is called now. The big glove in the outfield is so hokey that it didn't make the stadium feel authentic. Middle aged doofuses paddling around in McCovey Cove is the lamest thing ever. Chanting 666 in a bar when Bonds hit number 666 was cool though.
  15. The A's have been possibly moving out of Oakland for over 20 years now. I'm surprised that they are still in that horrible stadium. Part of it is the Giants owning rights to most of the more desirable parts of the Bay Area.
  16. Back then it was all "1918" vs "see you in Santa Clara next year."
  17. So much trash talk going to and from BART. They were better behaved in the stadium.
  18. This was a fun one: https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/OAK/OAK200105060.shtml This one was the hottest I've ever felt at a baseball game: https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/OAK/OAK200108090.shtml
  19. I definitely went to more A's games than Giants games. Probably saw every game the Sox played in Oakland during that time. All with just walk up tickets!
  20. I lived on the corner of Oak and Ashbury 2001 - 2002.
  21. Blatantly blown calls are a problem though. That can't happen.
  22. If a pitch is off by an inch and the ump misses it, it doesn't bother me. The really egregious calls are what gets my goat.
  23. 43, accountant, born and raised Sox fan, SoFL checking in!
  24. Jbay is still around
  25. SCM33 used to make a lot of “this is my last post ever” posts and then he’d come back a few months later.
