    All deals are "pending physicals." I believe they are fine with Verdugo's issues but maybe something new popped up in Brusdar's? Sox have every right to pull back. I don't think they do though.

    He was willing to go into this year with Betts on the books, but his preference was to trade him to get under the cap because of the future advantages a deal would provide.

    Henry walked it back. He said "I reminded baseball ops that we are focused on competitiveness over the next 5 years over and above resetting. You seem to think Chaim was brought in to reduce payroll. That has simply not been the way FSG operates here or across the pond." Clearly it was NOT a mandate. It could have been a suggestion to try, but they'd be willing to bite the bullet for another year if they had to.

    There's a website that estimates every player's trade value. You can make up a bunch of wild scenarios like the Red Sox trading 4 players and getting back 7. Basically, every post this offseason has come down to an argument of "yeah, well the trade simulator says that's a good/bad deal, so that's that."

    If players are just warm bodies that fill up the uniform to some of you, fine. To me, I like rooting for the actual players. Betts seemed like a really great guy and was fun as hell to watch. The Sox will be a less enjoyable experience for me with someone else in RF.

    I am patient and understanding. I'm just sad, right now, that they had to trade Betts away. I'll feel better eventually. I understand why they did it. I just don't personally agree with it. Sometimes it's ok to feel like a fan.
