    There's a website that estimates every player's trade value. You can make up a bunch of wild scenarios like the Red Sox trading 4 players and getting back 7. Basically, every post this offseason has come down to an argument of "yeah, well the trade simulator says that's a good/bad deal, so that's that."

    If players are just warm bodies that fill up the uniform to some of you, fine. To me, I like rooting for the actual players. Betts seemed like a really great guy and was fun as hell to watch. The Sox will be a less enjoyable experience for me with someone else in RF.

    I am patient and understanding. I'm just sad, right now, that they had to trade Betts away. I'll feel better eventually. I understand why they did it. I just don't personally agree with it. Sometimes it's ok to feel like a fan.

    He gets credit for the wins and losses. He gets credit for bringing Sale here. He gets credit for trading away Betts. He gets credit for 04, 07, 13, 18. He gets credit for 11 collapse, 12, 14, 15, 19.

    Is there a difference? Being a rubber stamp is giving your approval to the move without thinking about it. That doesn't remove your responsibility. Arguably, that could be worse than lording over.

    Nah. Just disbelief that his favorite player was gone. The tantrums belong to my younger daughter. Not great.

    I'm way less miserable than a lot of people on here. Don't confuse snark for misery. I'm a little sad that Betts is gone, but I'll be over it by the time Northeastern is beating up on the Red Sox.

    Yes, but I would imagine JH would realize the implications of those contracts and how it affects the luxury tax. Ultimately, it's his call because he's the boss.

    You'd get far more assets if you moved that player BEFORE the season. Not sure what other movable asset they have right now. If they moved anyone else, I wouldn't be too upset. Does bringing Dalbec up make Chavis expendable? Move Dalbec instead?

    I mean, people were upset that he was kept over Lakins, but then Lakins was waived by the Cubs anyway. Maybe the roster spots of 35-40 are really just Weber bad?

    If you bring up Castillo it precludes you from bringing in other players that could potentially push you over the threshold again.
