  1. I would agree. It would be quite the PR nightmare. Those who wanted Mookie to stay would still be pissed. Those who wanted to get under the lux tax would now be pissed.
  2. Yeah dude. He's a really good young OFer.
  3. The hold up seems to be with Graterol per all reports.
  4. That's what they used to call Rich Garces 20 years ago.
  5. Verdugo wasn't a part of that. He was there, but he was drinking at the party but not involved in the sexual assault.
  6. All deals are "pending physicals." I believe they are fine with Verdugo's issues but maybe something new popped up in Brusdar's? Sox have every right to pull back. I don't think they do though.
  7. Look, there's a reason that there are so many Red Sox fans in the rest of the country and it's not because all of those people would rather live in Boston.
  8. Love to use subterfuge against the enemy... the season ticket holders.
  9. @BostonGlobe Jim Rice says Mookie Betts told him he "wanted to stay" in Boston. @GlobeChadFinn If you’re going to keep making the conjecture-based argument that Mookie wanted out, you’re going to have to call Jim Rice a liar. I don’t think you want to call Jim Rice a liar.
  10. We don't need another post for this. Just add it to the original post. I'm only telling this to you now because when the mods come back in season, they are going to be pissed for having to move all your posts.
  11. So then you believe he's a liar?
  12. He was willing to go into this year with Betts on the books, but his preference was to trade him to get under the cap because of the future advantages a deal would provide.
  13. You agreed that "JH mandated" getting under the luxury tax. He outright said it was not a mandate. That it's not the way they operate.
  14. Henry walked it back. He said "I reminded baseball ops that we are focused on competitiveness over the next 5 years over and above resetting. You seem to think Chaim was brought in to reduce payroll. That has simply not been the way FSG operates here or across the pond." Clearly it was NOT a mandate. It could have been a suggestion to try, but they'd be willing to bite the bullet for another year if they had to.
  15. I just traded Benny and Walden for Quantril, Margot and Campusano! Get it done Bloom.
  16. https://www.baseballtradevalues.com/trade-simulator/
  17. Sad that you are calling Henry a liar.
  18. That's just not true. Henry stated that it didn't matter if they went under or not. Are you disagreeing with Henry?
  19. Maybe because the deal hasn't been finalized yet? Your tea leaf reading is a little silly though.
  20. He needs to just put 2019 behind him. His trade value isn't great right now.
  21. Honestly, it's a normal reaction.
  22. Are you ready for lots of Mookie Butts jokes?
  23. I wasn't born in 78. That's Jim Rice's MVP year. My username is just a reference to my boyhood idol.
