I was just going through the FanGraphs tracker because there are just too many guys to remember at the start of the offseason. I think Hoskins would be a better fit than Alonso because of the price point. Would Sox be converting Bellinger to 1b? He's a very good fielder so it'd be a waste. He's also a LH dead pull hitter so not a great fit for Fenway. I'd have him below Schwarber for sure, maybe right above Ozuna. Murakami is apparently a big k% guy and needs to be 1b only. I'd have him below Ozuna just because of the bust potential.

His injury is VERY serious IMO. I don't see him starting in MLB. It could take him a long time to get back. There's a chance he's never back to normal. I know we were told by Casas's camp that he's progressing and will be ready for Opening Day, but I'm taking it with a huge grain of salt. He generates a ton of power from his lower half and that injury may dramatically alter that. There's a history of guys with that injury having shortened careers and ultimately retiring because of that one injury.

The issue is that he currently has only one option year left. There's a chance he earns a 4th option year due to time missed, which would give him more time to develop into a starter. If next season is really his final option year, it's the last chance to develop him outside of the MLB clubhouse. If he's not really looking starter ready around ASB, they may need to make a decision about putting him in the pen.

They'll put Perales in the rotation just so that he can get the reps for his pitches. Right now, he just doesn't have enough IP in MiLB to give me comfort to throw him in the pen, see success and then promote.

Early just has a lot of pitchability. He could stick as a 5th starter for a season pending health. Tolle needs to develop secondaries that can work at the MLB level before he can become a starter. He can do that while pitching bulk innings in relief. I think Fitts could be trade fodder. He's fine, but didn't really make any sort of leap this season.

Bello can pitch like a 2 for a long stretch during the season, but his overall performance is definitely closer to a good 4. His cheap contract makes me want to hold onto him.

The issue with Mayer is health. I was hoping for one year where he put it together, but we still haven't seen it. He'd be the best defensive option for SS in '26. Maybe they could move him to 3b down the line, but he's a very smooth defender right now. Story had a lot of shortcomings to his game and needs to be moved to 2b.

Rafaela should never play anywhere but out in the grass for the rest of his career.

Rooting for the Brewers because they play the game the right way (high bb rate, low k rate, good defense, good pitching).

Early or Tolle are legitimate tradeable pieces. The guys left in the minors all are much lesser prospects or are Luis Perales (injury concern, running out of options, lack of professional innings). Sox need to weigh how they can add vs what they can take away. I'd rather not give anything up, but it may not be realistic if they want to be a WS contender in this window.

Buxton is coming off his best season of all time, but even then he STILL missed time due to an injury. He had a career high PA's last season at age 31 playing in 126 G. Well rested or made of glass? He's averaged 90 games/year since becoming a fulltime MLBer (ignoring 2020).

Growing up, most hitters are used to learning almost exclusively off of RHP from dads, coaches and other kids. I can see how it's a little bit harder for LHB vs LHP as it's not as ubiquitous. Kids just don't get those reps during practice.
