  1. MLB to release regular season schedule at 6pm today, maybe, possibly, who knows...
  2. @JeffPassan After a positive coronavirus test among Toronto Blue Jays players, a number remained behind in Florida while the rest of the team traveled to Toronto for training camp, sources tell ESPN. The players will remain in Florida for a few days before they are cleared to go to Canada.
  3. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2020/07/nationals-cancel-workouts-covid19-test-delays-mlb.html Nationals cancelled today's workout since they still haven't received their COVID test results. The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal tweeted that testers who were assigned to the Angels and two other, yet-unknown clubs simply didn’t show over the weekend. LOL @Britt_Ghiroli Nats: Per MLB’s protocol, all players and staff were tested for Covid-19 on Friday, July 3rd. 72 hours later, we have yet to receive the results of those tests. We cannot have our players and staff work at risk. Therefore, we have cancelled our team workout this morning
  4. Sox Prospects updated their rankings and put Nick Yorke 11th and Blaze Jordan 13th, creating a Matthew Lugo sandwich.

  8. Just as an FYI, there are NO changes to the playoff structure from the previous few years. 6 division winners, 4 WC teams.
  9. So apparently some of the unique rules for the roster are as follows: 1. In lieu of a 40 man roster, there will be a 60 man roster in order to provide protection against injury/COVID 2. Season starts with 30 man roster with 30 man non active pool 3. Two weeks later, the roster is reduced by 2 men 4. Two weeks after that, the roster is reduced by 2 men to get to 26 (27th man allowed for double headers) 5. If you move anyone from the active 30/28/36 man roster to the pool, they either need to have options or will be DFA'd 6. Can't trade anyone not on a 60 man roster, though teams may get around this by trading for PTBNLs and not finalizing the deal until after the season 7. For road trips, teams are allowed to bring an additional 3 players as a taxi squad in case of injury/COVID 8. There may be a FA team housed in Nashville that would practice together and be available for in season moves 9. The player pool cannot practice with the active roster and will be housed at a nearby MiLB facility
  10. Baseball isn't going to die that soon. There'd have to be a complete economic catastrophe the likes of which modern man hasn't seen for baseball to vanish that quick. It may contract, but it's not going to just disappear.
  11. I bet they are still going to try, but will quit a few weeks in.
  12. I like it.
  13. Wahoo should have been gone decades ago. Braves got rid of Noc-a-homa a few years ago I believe.

Lucroy joins the pool as a non-roster player and brings Boston’s total to 48 players (37 members of the 40-man roster and 11 non-roster invitees).
  20. MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred on The Dan Patrick Show: “"The reality is, we weren’t going to play more than sixty games, no matter how the negotiation with the players went or any other factor” He's going to lose his shorts during the next negotiations if he keeps putting his foot in his mouth like this.
  21. Have we started the trade JBJ 2020 thread yet?
  22. It's fine. It's no worse than the ugly Gulf logo in LF or the Coke bottles, or any of the crap currently on the Monster.
