  1. If so, that's not really a cliff, is it?
  2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5zyEe76oxs Albert Belle was so good then.
  3. Depends on what your definition of "compete" is. Also, I'd prefer the longview of Bloom. Even if next season was a car crash, you need to stick it through for a few more years.
  4. I would say that if they are at .500, it would still be smart to sell anyone with a contract coming due (ERod, Barnes, Perez).
  5. Hendu can have a pinch hitting spot on my all time team.
  6. The Braves’ late pickup of Pablo Sandoval came as a surprise to many, but the organization clearly sees something in the former Giants star. Despite a dismal .214/.287/.262 slash on the year, including four hitless plate appearances with Atlanta (two walks), the Panda makes the Wild Card roster as a bench piece. IDK. Maybe they think Pablo has some sort of uncanny ability to hit in the postseason? Maybe just a "glue guy" who has WS experience?
  7. If there was ever a year to bottom out it was 2020. No reason they'd fall to further depths next year.
  8. Trading ERod would be dealing him at an all time low. What could you even get for him? Top 20 prospect? That's basically the return for Pillar.
  9. Pooperstown. Boggs never one anything for the Sox. Players from 100 years ago don't count.
  10. I think this was his coming out party.
  11. Greatest Sox 3B of all time.
  12. What if they traded Puello?
  13. I don't believe that for a second.
  14. I would agree. I don't think it's Bloom's job to tell the media everything they want to hear. I feel this ownership has been too open at times.
  15. Bradford is a dum dum.
  16. Think he still uses the duck boat he bought?
  17. On taxi squad for this series.
  18. @alexspeier Kennedy says MLB teams lost over $100M per club this year. ‘We know we’re going to withstand operating losses. We’re prepared for that.’ Says the Sox expect to invest in team in a fashion similar to what they’ve done over last 20 years.
  19. Walk Hard Part 2 featuring Suge Knight
  20. @jcmccaffrey Sam Kennedy on ownership's perspective of Alex Cora being a managerial candidate: We were fortunate to be able to be able to recruit Bloom from Tampa. Chaim and his team will run the process and ultimately decide who the next manager will be.
  21. @PeteAbe Kennedy said team will roll back the unpopular 7:30 start times back to 7:10 or 7:05. No comment on ticket prices.
  22. @SoxProspects Old friends on AL Wild Card Rosters: TOR: Travis Shaw, Santiago Espinal HOU: Ryan Pressly, Josh Reddick OAK: Frankie Montas, JB Wendelken (Weems on taxi squad) CWS: Yoan Moncada TB: Manuel Margot CLE: Sandy Leon MIN: Marwin Gonzalez (2011 R5 pick flipped to HOU) NYY: None
  23. @PeteAbe RHP Chih-Jung Liu is on his way to Ft. Myers for the #RedSox fall camp. The pitcher from Taiwan, who was signed last fall, reported to spring training but never got in a game before it was shut down.
  24. He was out the last time I had season tickets or went to a game.
  25. @redsoxstats Heyman says while the Sox have already started reaching out to people for manager recommendations, they have also been talking to people about Cora. "Not ready to say its 70-80%, but I think Cora has a pretty good chance [of returning to Boston]."
