  1. My gut says just vote in the poll.
  2. @PeteAbe Per #RedSox: Billy Conigliaro, passed away today at the age of 73. The OF from Revere appeared in 347 MLB games—including 247 with the Red Sox from 1969-71—and won a World Series title with the 1973 Oakland A’s.
  3. Problem is that Mr "Alt 130" is under the assumption that he was going to be the starting 2B and would play there more often than anywhere else. Why does he believe that? Is there another move to come in the OF? If not, it makes little sense to plop him at 2B and run with Renfroe/Verdugo/Beni as the starters for 120+ games. Only makes sense if Renfroe figures out how to hit RHP.
  4. dWAR since 2019 for available FA CFers: Jackie Bradley Jr. 1.0 dWAR Jarrod Dyson 1.1 Brett Gardner 0.7 Brian Goodwin -0.7 Billy Hamilton -0.4 Jon Jay -0.8 Jake Marisnick 0.6 Kevin Pillar -0.6 Danny Santana -0.3
  5. Puig in RF could be kinda fun.
  6. Maybe Pillar and Workman? Pillar more likely than Workman.
  7. Maybe they need to pick themselves up by their bootstraps... err stirrups.
  8. Fangraphs is projecting the Sox to have 87 wins. 50% chance to make WC round. The predict the rotation to be 10th best in MLB.
  9. I don't think Kyle Hart makes another spot start. Maybe if Charlie Zink is the only other option.
  10. They may stick with a 5th day bullpen game as they tried to do last year.
  11. Not sure Thad Ward is close enough. More realistic for him would be end of 2022.
  12. And the addition of Ottavino, Andriese, Sawamura will lengthen this bullpen, especially if Houck is in the mix as well.
  13. Yes, this greed is another hindrance to growing the sport. They have gotten too far away from common sense.
  14. I think the 2019 team (which was virtually the same as the 2018 team) vastly underperformed.
  15. Do you think the Sox will sign any of those pitchers?
  16. I think we need to stop calling human beings "imports" like they are commodities.
  17. And excluding fielding geniuses like Che-Hsuan Lin. He could really surprise some people in 2010!
  18. Thanks to Daniel Nava, we should never forget unique paths to MLB.
  19. This is the annual thread where we all guess how many wins the Sox will have in the regular season. Let's all assume that 162 games will be played for this.
  20. I think Houck should start in the pen this year.
  21. There will always be independent leagues. Maybe even more now?
  22. Losing one affiliate doesn't materially affect the players you have in your organization. There may be an adjustment for a year or two, but it'll go unnoticed sooner than later.
  23. Lars, Bowden, Reddick, Bard, Tazawa, Hagadone, Casey Kelly, Almanzar, Westmoreland
  24. Maybe Pivetta is even moved to the pen at the end of the year to make room for Mata/Seabold? A lot of scenarios we could run over.
