    IMO, he's not a good 1b. He's not natural over there. If you put him in LF, maybe he could be a little more comfortable. He's spent the majority of his baseball career on that side of the diamond. I think Casas comes up next year. At that point, Dalbec will not have a full time role at 1b. May as well transition him off there now.

    It's why it's unfair to completely abandon younger players. They need to play through their cold stretches. This goes for Duran too. Having him sit on the bench isn't going to do him any good. All these posters who only want to bring players up through the farm system are going to have to learn to deal with down years when the Sox are going through growing pains.

    Allen was dealt, he was not pilfered. You could say that DD pilfered Kimbrel from the Padres, but you can't say he pilfered Allen to the Padres.

    He'll need to opt out before the CBA is agreed to for sure. They are going to drag this CBA negotiation out. Tony Clark took a lot of heat for the last CBA. He's going to give more push back this time.

    The problem was that his swing was too slappy and he wasn't making hard contact. The only way to get him to make hard contact was to revamp his swing. He had a 634 OPS in AA with his old swing. That wasn't going to get it done at higher levels.

    If you exclude Arroyo's 2017 stint in MLB when he was 22, he has a career 103 WRC+. At AAA in 2017, he had a 1065 OPS. Dalbec has a career 107 WRC+. When Dalbec was 22, he was in A ball with a 772 OPS and a 35% k rate.

    Dalbec has looked great. My worry is that it's just the rollercoaster ride for a guy with Dalbec's skillset. He'll go on a tear for a while and then go ice cold for just as long if not longer. I hope he can figure it out, increase his walk rate and find a defensive position. I wonder if he'd be a better fit in LF.

    I also don't want to understate what Arroyo has been this year. If he had the same production over 150 games, he'd be a 3 fWAR player. Dalbec over 150 games would be a 0 fWAR player.

    Arroyo and Dalbec are the same age. How good would Dalbec's numbers look if he had played in MLB in 17 and 18 like Arroyo did?

    I trust the Bloom can adequately evaluate our farm and not trade anything away that will come back to bite us.

    I like him. I don't like his K/BB rate this year. I'm just REALISTIC about his trade value. His value is higher than Chavis, but on 7/31 it was pretty darn low. I thought he'd hit 40 HR's this year and have 200 K's.

    Verdugo has a 951 OPS, 159 WRC+ since his baby was born. Using that dad strength.

    I just like what I posted because it is a stronger defensive team than throwing one of JD/Schwarber in LF, Verdugo in CF and moving Kiké to 2B.

    @SoxProspects Durbin Feltman pitched a scoreless inning of relief in Worcester's 8-5 win last night. Currently 40th on the #SP60, Feltman has an ERA of 2.84 over 12.1 IP, and has held batters to a .191 OBA since joining the @WooSox. Feltman is still making his case for being in BOS next season.

    I agree. If he comes back next year on that option, it's a great deal. If the deal was Aldo for 1.5 months of Schwarber, it's less of a great deal IMO. I love how patient he is. He just has a command of the batters box. JD looks lost most of the time. Schwarber always looks confident.

    The best unit is probably: Vaz C Schwarber 1B Arroyo 2B Devers 3B Xander SS Renfroe RF Kiké CF Verdugo LF JD DH Having Arroyo out had a bigger impact on the team than most would realize. It moved Kiké off position and Duran's growing pains just exacerbated the issue.
