  1. Good to see. I was ready to write him off.
  2. It's fine, I just have underlying concerns considering that he's not hitting any doubles right now. Is he a pure power guy now?
  3. In a playoff setting, upgrading your 4th and 5th starters doesn't really matter anyway. I agree that bolstering the relieving corps could be a better bet. I also just don't like Gray because his stats away from home are atrocious. He has a weird reverse Coors split.
  4. I was just thinking about the combo of going from Sale's nasty LHP slider to Houck's nasty RHP slider. That could give an opposing manager fits when trying to make out a lineup.
  5. Per BTV, R Hernandez alone should be enough to get Gray. Gray is a FA after this season. Adding Downs to that is not ideal.
  6. What if they just piggybacked Sale with Houck the next month or so?
  7. I don't honestly care if he's not "stretched out." As long as he can go every 5 days, he can come up and provide more than the bottom of the rotation currently is. I think it would be a huge boost for this team.
  8. This is his 23 season.
  9. Workman can’t pitch more than one inning.
  10. Sale: 3.2 Innings, 0 H, 1 BB, 6 K
  11. POR is very wet today. Maybe Sale gets pushed off?
  12. Hernández 2B Duran CF Bogaerts SS Devers 3B Martinez DH Verdugo LF Renfroe RF Santana 1B Vázquez C
  13. Waive Garrett Richards.
  14. @RedSox Most XBH in the AL, 2018-2021: 1. J.D. Martinez – 223 2. Xander Bogaerts – 219 3. Rafael Devers – 213
  15. He's cost prohibitive for sure. It's just up to you if you want to ride the lightning.
  16. Rios and Workman should be gone. Andriese should still have a spot since he can throw a lot of innings and save the pen. I'd have him as the 13th pitcher on the squad until the playoffs.
  17. Adding Gallo would make them the team to beat. That'd be a crazy lineup.
  18. If the Sox are in the WS, I could see them going away from shaky Kimbrel and back to Sale again.
  19. IDK. He only has 1.9 fWAR. That's maybe only in the very good territory. Kiké has the same fWAR so far. We wouldn't call his season historic.
  20. He pitched this weekend too. There was a whole lot going on here in this blowout victory for FCL, but we have to start on the mound with Seabold. The prospect was making his second rehab appearance on the complex, and after showing strong stuff but some rust with his command the first time out, it doesn’t appear that was much of an issue this time around. He allowed just a single and a double, and he should be able to move up the ladder for his next start, even if he’s not ready to get all the way back up to Worcester. As for Encarnacion, he’s just coninuing a great start to his year. He’s now down to a 0.69 ERA over 14 innings, striking out 14 and walking only one.
  21. I'd give him one more start in POR and WOO. If he feels ready to go after that, I call him up and you just figure out his innings from there.
  22. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/2021-trade-value-31-to-40/ In terms of trade value, Fangraphs has Raffy at 37th highest and Verdugo at 35. Verdugo may have a higher value solely because he has an extra year of control.
  23. https://twitter.com/jnorris427/status/1417500504549117958 Video if anyone was interested in seeing Casas' new swing when he has 2 strikes. He chokes up and keeps both feet planted on the ground.
  24. It would seem to be the case since they are going to be in a rough stretch and some of these guys look haggard.
