  1. @SoxProspects Some Tuesday transactions from Worcester: IF Chad De La Guerra to IL (hamstring strain) RHRPs Brandon Brennan and Brandon Workman activated UT Jack Lopez added from Portland It says UT Danny Santana rehab assignment transferred, but that should be activated from IL, we think. Santana is getting closer.
  2. They're pretty good actually. This season has been downright enjoyable. So far, they haven't been the .500 team that some of the naysayers were projecting.
  3. They liked Springs last year and even had him close out some games. I didn't understand why they DFA'd Springs but kept Brice.
  4. I wonder if he's a victim of the newer balls.
  5. While Jeff Francoeur did play for 8 different teams, none of them were the Sox.
  6. I tend to think that all these other teams should be worried about our offense coming to light up their pitching. Cora will also have had time to fix his bullpen issues.
  7. He's been a joke from day one.
  8. They have room on the roster due to roster expansion, but a glut of mediocre OFers. Mieses will probably put up big numbers in AA like Barfield did a few years ago and then go play elsewhere next year.
  9. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/rafael-devers-still-has-another-gear/ Devers is running an elite line, certainly, but he also has the fourth-best expected wOBA in baseball, behind only Harper, Soto, and Ronald Acuña Jr. We have known for a few years now that Devers is a really good player — his 133 wRC+, 5.9 WAR 2019 campaign was the 13th-most valuable season in baseball that year — but to see him in a class with Harper, Soto, and Acuña gives me a whole different perception of his offensive prowess. By most of the rate stats, Devers is on pace for a career year, but by the end of 2021, there’s a pretty good chance his slash line will be even better than it is now. And that’s really exciting if you’re a Red Sox fan. Interesting article on how Devers is actually outperforming his stats.
  10. Mieses should be in AAA. He came over from STL before 2020. He's played well in AAA before so pushing him down to AA may just be a numbers game thing? IDK.
  11. He wasn't a "Punch and Judy hitter." That was his reasoning for not bunting more.
  12. I was on board with that too.
  13. It’s sustainable until they mess with the baseballs again.
  14. Well, Houk is a reliever long term anyway.
  15. Start Chavis against LHP and sit against RHP? Fine.
  16. Gonzalez 2B, Verdugo CF, Martinez DH, Bogaerts SS, Devers 3B, Renfroe RF, Dalbec 1B, Cordero LF, Plawecki C, and Pivetta RHP.
  17. Untrue. See the first 3 games this year.
  18. Chavis 2B, Verdugo CF, Martinez DH, Bogaerts SS, Devers 3B, Vazquez C, Gonzalez LF, Renfroe RF, Dalbec 1B. SP, Richards.
  19. 2011: Chicken and Beer Gate 2012: Bobby V Gate 2015: Castillo Gate 2016: Price Gate 2019: Rest Gate 2020: Cliff Gate 2021: 14 Gate
  20. @JoeyMacHockey Michael Chavis and Jett Bandy will join the Red Sox’ taxi squad in Baltimore.
