  1. @J_McPherson1126 #Marlins news: Pablo Lopez is back in Miami & will not start tonight's Red Sox game. He'll start Tuesday vs the Rockies. Told it's not injury related. Just giving Lopez an extra day between starts (which the team said it would do occasionally with starting pitchers this season)
  2. J.D. Martinez (wrist) remains sidelined for Monday's game against the Marlins. Martinez is dealing with a sore wrist and will miss his third straight game, though the good news is that X-rays were negative. As of now, the Red Sox aren't considering a stint on the injured list. Rafael Devers will serve as the DH on Monday while Marwin Gonzalez will play third.
  3. Arroyo 2B, Verdugo LF, Bogaerts SS, Devers DH, Renfroe RF, Gonzalez 3B, Plawecki C, Hernández CF, Dalbec 1B, and Pivetta RHP
  4. Fair enough. I think there's a reason to believe that Casas can continue to hit like this. I don't believe Dalbec will ever hit like 2020 again (42% k rate and 359 OBP are unlikely bedfellows).
  5. Hard to count a 23 game sample IMO.
  6. Devers isn't moving to 1b. He'll move to LF/DH if anywhere.
  7. Casas is the 27th ranked prospect right now. Casas just hit .400 in Olympic qualifiers. He has a 952 OPS as of today. Dalbec hasn't had an OPS higher than that since playing in Lowell. Dalbec will not be on the Red Sox in 2023. He's not a keeper unless his OBP gets to 330.
  8. That's not his "floor" it needs to be his floor if he's to be a "clear keeper." That's the argument I'm making. He'll wind up this season with a OBP
  9. 315 would be the 32nd ranked 1b with 100 at bats. That's kinda garbage. That is by definition not a clear keeper.
  10. The Greenville Drive are scoring 6.5 runs per game and have 6 everyday guys OPS > 800 (3 > 1.000).
  11. If you want him to be a "clear keeper" that's the floor. At .300, it's a guy who is a platoon/bench bat at best.
  12. Joey Gallo is a career 331 OBP guy. That has to be the floor for Dalbec.
  13. Tear it down or just be a mediocre team for the next 4-5 years.
  14. 22nd in OPS, 25th in runs scored... Not a very good team IMO.
  15. @SoxNotes The Red Sox lead the majors with a 2.38 ERA in June. Sox relievers have a 1.59 June ERA. In their 3 games at NYY, they allowed 1 ER and held the Yankees to a .114 AVG (4-for-35). 2021 Reliever ERAs: Whitlock – 1.63 Ottavino – 2.66 Barnes – 2.73 Sawamura – 2.78 Hernandez – 3.00 Nice that Ottavino is coming around a bit.
  16. Jacko was right, there are only 3 good teams in the ALE: Sox, Rays, Jays. It's just a shame that his "five year track record of knowing exactly how the Sox season will turn out" is finally over.
  17. Johan Mieses going train: https://twitter.com/woosox/status/1400972123829645313?s=21
  18. Teddy Ballgame to Yaz to Rice to Greenwell to Wil Cordero to O'Leary to Manny to Bay to Nava to CC to Gomes to Hanley to Holt to Beni to Cordero/Verdugo/whoever to Duran Being top 5 in this list is nothing to brag about. Woof. Aside from Yaz, none of those guys make me feel confident out there.
  19. Danny Santana is a worse option for lead off than Kiké.
  20. 1. Danny Santana CF 2. Alex Verdugo LF 3. J.D. Martinez DH 4. Xander Bogaerts SS 5. Rafael Devers 3B 6. Hunter Renfroe RF 7. Marwin Gonzalez 1B 8. Christian Vazquez C 9. Christian Arroyo 2B
  21. @PeteAbe #RedSox 1-15 at Yankees Stadium the last two years, outscored 105-50 and have lost 11 straight. Last win: June 2, 2019. Only 733 day ago.
  22. Franchy was good enough to acquire and start in LF on Opening Day! Chaim thought so highly of him, so he should still be our everyday LF!
  23. And how did SABR think he do in 2019? https://sabr.org/sdi/2019-final#ALLF 2017? https://sabr.org/sdi/2017-final#ALLF My opinion remains that he's not a good LF.
  24. "It's just a little stuck. If we gun it, we can get through the rest of the way."
  25. @ChrisCotillo Happy Benintendi PTBNL Day.
