  1. Devers’ smile always warms my heart.
  2. Heart of the order coming up. They got this.
  3. Needed to bounce that. Was put on a tee. Bad pitch.
  4. It's up to whoever made the initial blunder, I believe.
  5. History shows he's a 4.5+ ERA guy. The last two starts are just him regressing to his career norms. Does Pivetta have more regression to do as well? Harder to say because he doesn't have Perez's track record. Richards' overall numbers are relatively in line with last season. Hard to project him because of his lengthy injury history. Nate is keeping his HR/FB down from career norms, but I don't know if that can continue. ERod may be the only guy in the rotation due some positive regression!
  6. No, Perez's very last game was 1.1 Innings, 5 ER. That makes 11 ER over his past 3.1 Innings. You skipped his most recent start in your tabulation.
  7. There's been no change in the spin rates of Sox pitchers since the crackdown. I don't think the lack of success is due to those issues.
  8. Typical. I'm not surprised that guys like Perez and Pivetta have started to struggle.
  9. I'm going to try to not get my hopes up. However, any guy that they grab at 4 is going to be really good.
  10. He changed his swing in 2020. However, my original post was about Wilson being discussed as a DFA candidate in the past. It had nothing to do with Duran.
  11. Alex Cobb is in the lead right now.
  12. Nobody has stated that Duran is on Wilson's level defensively right now.
  13. Really? Yes. Marcus bounced around in 2019. He was put in Portland, then sent down in the middle of May because it was terrible. He went back to Salem (he had spent all of the prior year in A+) found success and then was promoted again in July. His second stint was a little better, but was nowhere near the numbers he has now.
  14. @mlbtraderumors Red Sox Select Ryan Weber, Designate Brandon Brennan
  15. Having more professional PA's has nothing to do with being more ready. Wilson was drafted as a HS. Duran came out of college.
  16. Potts was already been activated and has played the past 3 days.
  17. This is only because Wilson has never hit like this before. He was discussed as a DFA candidate prior to this output.
  18. The issue is 2x as many HR's at home in PP. May need to be mindful about power numbers going forward.
  19. @SPChrisHatfield HR last night helps, but Duran's power numbers away from Polar Park still well below those at home. SSS caveat, but still kind of stark: H: 12 G, .286/.375/.735, 4 2B, 6 HR, .258 BABIP A: 9 G, .222/.349/.417, 1 2B, 2 HR, .286 BABIP WooSox as a team: H: 18 G, 33 HR A: 15 G, 15 HR I agree with some of the skepticism surrounding WOO numbers right now. We don't really know how that ballpark plays. At this point, there have been a few "jet stream" concerns posted by some who follow the team.
  20. I'm with you. Interleague games stink and it led to the downfall of the ASG with Selig hammering the last nail in.
  21. Liam Hendricks stated today that MLB should crack down, but need to provide a universal grip substance and do a better job at maintaining baseballs.
  22. Also, it's not like the Sox MiLB talent level was stocked with middle infield guys when they moved him to the OF. I think they moved him based on his profile, not what the rest of the system looked like. At that point, the OF looked like the surest bet for the future (Mookie/JBJ/Beni).
