He was a 7th round pick with lots of speed. His defense in the IF wasn't that great to begin with. I think they probably figured that they could utilize his speed more in the OF.

I can see it. At some point, they need to determine if he's the best option at the bottom of their 40 man roster. Trade? DFA? We'll see.

He'd be blocked until 2022 due to Pedroia's long term under market deal.

Plus defensive questions. He has stuff to work on before being promoted. He's not at Mookie/Devers/Beni levels of tearing through the minors yet.

I think they are beyond the super two deadline. They could call up anyone they wanted, but I think they aren't ready to call up Duran or anyone else just yet.

I was wrong for slotting him in LF and Verdugo in RF. I didn't know about the howitzer he carries.

@jcmccaffrey Sawamura has a sore right hip and has been getting treatment. He's not available today. Cora said it's possible he might need an IL stint but they're still figuring that out. I think it's just about Cowboy Kaleb Orton time.

I'd keep Dalbec up, DFA Santana and figure out who to call up out of Wilson/Chavis. Could be a good tip of the cap to call up Wilson for how well he's playing?

I bumped this to give Renfroe a shout out, not to drag Dalbec/Chavis/Santana in here. Hunter, I'm glad I was wrong about you. You're still not great against RHP, but maybe you can be serviceable as an everyday guy and not just a platoon guy.
