    It may come down to Ward vs Scherff. Scherff has been written off, but has pitched really well this year. I could see a team being more likely to grab Scherff than Ward.

    Plawecki has played well below his 2020 performance. He won't be back next year.

    Devlin Granberg has continued to mash after being promoted to Portland. GREE: 27 G, 1.058 OPS POR: 22 G .979 OPS He went 4 for 6 last night and has a HR in the last 3 games. Has always been projected as an org guy. Not sure how much higher his ceiling is since he doesn't walk much.

    If we are just talking “peak” it’s hard to overstate late 70’s Rice.

    Yaz > Boggs > Rice > Evans > Nomar > Lynn For now, Betts somewhere in the Rice/Evans/Nomar discussion. Depending on how he ages, he could be better than Boggs. Maybe he drops off the map like Nomar or ages poorly like Rice did?

    Sometimes it goes against you though. Consider Babe. When he first started sheepherding, most people were like "this pig can't be the Babe Ruth of sheepherding, no way." Then when he lays the bah ram ewe smackdown it's all "that'll do pig, that'll do."

    I think it's more about future projection at that age. None of those guys are finished products. I've been to a few A ball Mets games down here and the product is just kinda ugly right now. Fielding is bad all over.
