  1. I can see someone hasn't lived with children in a long, long time.
  2. After he signed, who brought up JBJ again before yesterday? I don't remember that at all.
  3. Think of it like a tiered system: 1. No control over the pitch, can't consistently throw it for strikes 2. Control over the pitch, can throw it for strikes 3. Command over the pitch, can pinpoint the pitch location
  4. He was brought up last winter because he was on last year's team..................
  5. Do they not have a homefield advantage though?
  6. No. Control is just throwing it for strikes regardless of where the catcher sets up.
  7. Hey, I didn't come up with that stupid terminology. I don't know why they made it intentionally confusing.
  8. The use of the word "pining" was intentional by you. It infers that we are sitting here holding out hope that our rescuer JBJ will come back in 2022. Nobody thinks that. It was just an option to help the defense that you've been complaining about.
  9. The Mariners also have a big homefield advantage due to the excessive travel it takes to get there.
  10. Devin Williams breaking his hand while drunk seems fitting for the Brewers.
  11. Rockies, DBags and Padres are all below .500. But that's a tougher division I guess.
  12. Ok, so the Rays only have 91 wins instead of 98.
  13. When did you switch from the Twins to the Mariners?
  14. And I spent all of 2 hours talking about it. Not sure that's "pining" for someone.
  15. His 2014 in CLE was pretty bad. Nobody is pining for JBJ. It was just an idea to add DEFENSE in RF. If someone can point out a similar player that is available in FA, let me know. Instead of listing similar players yesterday, you just provided a list that included a bunch of bat first no glove guys that don't fix our OF problem.
  16. You mean from 2010 - 2013? Ok. Who had the most fWAR in that time period: Justin Masterson or any Red Sox pitcher? However, I don't think anyone wanted Masterson after he fell off a cliff in 2014.
  17. Command is being able to locate a pitch. Control is being able to throw that pitch for strikes.
  18. This has nothing to do with command.
  19. Nobody was asking for Justin Masterson. He had a 5.88 ERA the year before he came back. People thought he could maybe be a 5th starter. Nobody was asking for him to come back in 2015.
  20. What if Fisk's HR was actually foul? What if Big Papi decided to play soccer instead of baseball?
  21. Love getting into some 1969 division alignment talk. The reason the Reds were in the West was because the Cardinals and Cubs (both further west than the Reds) lobbied to be in the same division with the Mets and Phillies. This is why the Braves and Reds were pushed to the West. There were concerns about inequity if the Cards, Cubs and Giants were all in the same division.
  22. Unless they choked in the playoffs too.
  23. Ok, so they are not arbitrary now, or are at least LESS arbitrary. Good.
  24. I'm fine with the WC teams having a slight disadvantage.
