  1. C - Leon/Vaz - very solid defense 1B - Mitch - again solid 2B - Nunez/Holt/Kinsler - average at best SS - Xander - little range but is reliable 3B - Devers - good range, but terrible arm RF - Betts - elite defense CF - JBJ - elite defense LF - Beni - above average defense for LF Aside from 2B and 3B, this was a good defensive unit.
  2. I wouldn't just dump him, but I could see him being used in a package to get a big piece.
  3. And my preference would be for a bigger bat in LF. I need the 2020 version of Verdugo, not the 2021 one.
  4. In terms of easiest schedule, the team most likely to catch the Sox would be in order: M's A's Jays Sox seem to have the easiest remaining schedule of those 4 teams. If they miss out, it's because of how far this team has fallen.
  5. Verdugo has taken a sizable step backwards this year. I'd rather sit him than ever play him in CF. This team should look a little better once Kiké comes back, but we need to end the notion that Verdugo can play CF. Honestly, he's playing more like tradebait this offseason.
  6. According to defensive metrics like UZR/150 and DRS, Dalbec is the worst fulltime BOS 1B in the past 25 years. Worse than Napoli, Millar and Hanley. Mitch Moreland is considered a good 1B. AGon was a very good 1B. Youk was a very good 1B.
  7. I don't know what your problem is right now.
  8. @alexspeier Darwinzon Hernández is starting a rehab assignment with the Triple-A WooSox tonight. His absence as a LH relief option capable of high K rates for the Red Sox has been significant. I'm not voting DHern for closer, but he'll help this pen a little.
  9. That's a long way to get to "I agree."
  10. No. Look where the shadows are in CF when he misses the ball. You can't blame the sun on that one. He just tried to make a spectacular play, but failed.
  11. All my lucks are coming in clutch as hell.
  12. It's very weird that they sent Lopez back to AAA. He wasn't hitting very well, but his game was fine enough. I'd rather lose with our org guys than bring in stiffs like Motter.
  13. Not sure he could hear music with all that hair.
  14. Disagree.
  15. The sun does not set behind homeplate. If he lost the ball in the sun, he was looking in the wrong direction.
  16. I didn't turn it on until the 7th.
  17. I'm not sure how the Sox are able to let go of anyone at this point.
  18. Some people give him too much credit. Some people don't give him enough credit. I think he gets the right amount of credit when you average it out.
  19. Though a win in Yankee Stadium would make up for the rest of the season even if they got swept in the ALDS.
  20. Here's how the 9th should have gone: Double off CF wall. K K Ground out. The loss wasn't Whitlock's fault.
  21. I'd rather they just keep guys like Lopez up than bring in Russell.
  22. If Puvetta got sick on Friday, Seabold would’ve been called up. I believe he pitched on Saturday.
  23. No, guys like Espinal and Hart are more up and down guys than MLBers. Crawford was on nobody’s radar in the offseason and wasn’t great in AAA. The high ceiling guys are further away.
  24. Kutter Crawford starting today.
