  1. If you can successfully manage it, you can always remain close enough to the limit where you can go under every few years and not have to consider it a "cliff."
  2. Since the Rays were born: Red Sox: 4 WS titles Rays: 0 WS titles (only 3 games won in 2 series)
  3. Being a Mariners fan, you certainly know where to find it.
  4. Glad you're feeling great about being swept in the final homestand by a historic rival.
  5. What will happen is they'll sweep the O's and to get the top seed and then just lose 2 to the Nats. They'll slink into the WC in the Bronx and the pen will blow it in spectacular fashion after the defense fails to make an easy 3rd out late in the game.
  6. Yes, EVERYONE AT THE MLB LEVEL IS CAPABLE OF HAVING A GOOD DAY. The Sox should still hit them around though.
  7. Go buy a tee and a hitting net. You guys will feel better.
  8. Yeah, I looked at the score midafternoon and thought there was no way I'd hold you off.
  9. And quite often you don't.
  10. Yes, AND Ellis isn't even starting this series. According to Fangraphs, they are starting the underwhelming Bruce Zimmermann (coming off the 60 day IL and gave up 3 ER in 2 Innings in AA 2 starts ago), Zac Lowther (7.66 ERA) and Alexander Wells (7.61 ERA).
  11. I'm just providing a free service to all. I was told that the only way I'd get a new work laptop was to through mine into the river. Good luck.
  12. When I'm scrolling through the list of FA candidates, I read Joe Smith and just pass right on by. A perfect name for a team that hasn't sniffed the playoffs in 20 years or whatever. He's 37 and playing for his 7th organization. Also, notin needs to point out Smith's numbers from HOU this season.
  13. Since 2013: Wood 984 Innings Eovaldi 988 Innings
  14. Bloom: "Old woman!" Joe Smith: "Man." B: "Sorry. Old man! Whose clubhouse is that?" J: "I'm 37!" B: "What?" J: "I'm 37, I'm not old!" B: "Well, I can't just call you 'man'." J: "Well, you could say 'Joe Smith'." B: "I didn't know you were called Joe Smith." J: "You never bothered to find out, did you?" B: "I did say sorry about the old woman, but from behind you looked--"
  15. Yes. I have always liked Stroman. Gausman was surprisingly good this year. I'd probably overpay for Stroman. I think he's a good guy to have on your club in terms of energy.
  16. It would be Alex Wood as a 5th starter with Seabold and others at the ready. I wouldn't expect him to be a thrilling signing.
  17. Which one of us would get a WS ring again?
  18. You're right. I noticed my mistake when bell quoted me that I was correct.
  19. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/one-last-week-for-all-the-marbles-zips-projects-the-postseason-home-stretch/ BOS 80% to make the playoffs, 38% for home game.
  20. I don't think it does anything on either fronts.
  21. The "Tampa Rays North" narrative needs to go away.
