  1. I think Rodon is a much higher IL risk.
  2. I would. 1/25?
  3. Greinke on a one year deal could be fine. I'd be ok with Schwarber long term or a 4 year deal for Taylor.
  4. Yes, none of us have inside knowledge on this. Maybe they are pushing hard to extend Devers and Bogey?
  5. @ChrisCotillo Red Sox have until 8 pm ET tonight to tender contracts to these players (and some other, less notable guys). Not expecting any non-tenders from them, but there are always surprises this time of year. Devers Renfroe 7.6M? Pivetta Verdugo Plawecki 2M? Brasier Arroyo Taylor
  6. Bloom is going to build depth to the roster. He may not ever add the top tier of talent, but he's going to make sure players 20 - 40 on the 40 man are all solid options. Over a 162 game season, that's how you stay competitive. It may not pay out in the playoffs, but some people on here still posit that it's all a crapshoot anyway.
  7. The Michael Wachas of the world.
  8. Top names still available: Freeman Rizzo Schwarber Taylor Cruz Bryant Soler Pederson Conforto Raisel Iglesias Stroman Rodon Kershaw Greinke Story Correa
  9. About 60 players have signed. About 250 are still unsigned. Hard to say what constitutes "high end."
  10. He'll probably only play about 1,000 games. $300k per game seems pretty crazy IMO.
  11. The ERod contract is looking really good right now.
  12. I think it's mainly to minimize the risk from a long term guy providing diminished returns at a high AAV.
  13. All you perverts have sick fantasies. Trivino AND Montas AND Iggy? When is enough enough?
  14. Frenulum?
  15. Maybe there are concerns the money will dry up after the new CBA?
  16. “Stop me before I do it again!!!”
  17. Dodgers are nearing a cliff.
  18. This has been speculated.
  19. I really don’t like Matz. I’m not a Wacha Wocka Wocka fan either.
  20. @Buster_ESPN It does seem more than a little weird that the owners and players are prepared to completely shut down a financial system that individual parties on both sides are exploiting in the last days and hours before the CBA deadline. Talk about mixed messages. @RobertStock6 A reminder to the layman that the owners are the ones locking the doors.
  21. Probably safer to roll the dice with Semien than Seager since Semien can actually stay on the field.
  22. Wacha is close to Matz level, but is a slight step down. That has more to do with how I see Matz.
  23. Bargains rarely come early in the FA period.
  24. I would say that Gray has a little bit of upside, but I think they are still paying a bit of a premium for that upside. It's an ok contract. I wouldn't absolutely hate it if Bloom gave him that. It's more preferable than some of the other deals handed out.
  25. Maybe. He must have sprained a finger when he signed that extension. I hope normal Barnes comes back.
