    Schwarber is a stretch this year, but he'll be DH going forward when JD leaves next offseason. He seemed to fit really well with the clubhouse. You can play him at 1b for 1/2 a year until Casas is ready. Maybe he has a full year at 1b because Casas isn't called up until 2023? Maybe they bring Schwarber in for LF and decide to non-tender Renfroe?

    @ChrisCotillo Source: Red Sox have signed infielder Rob Refsnyder to a minor-league deal. 30-year-old former Yankee spent 2021 with Twins, appeared in 51 games.

    @ChrisCotillo Red Sox have until 8 pm ET tonight to tender contracts to these players (and some other, less notable guys). Not expecting any non-tenders from them, but there are always surprises this time of year. Devers Renfroe 7.6M? Pivetta Verdugo Plawecki 2M? Brasier Arroyo Taylor

    Bloom is going to build depth to the roster. He may not ever add the top tier of talent, but he's going to make sure players 20 - 40 on the 40 man are all solid options. Over a 162 game season, that's how you stay competitive. It may not pay out in the playoffs, but some people on here still posit that it's all a crapshoot anyway.
