    14 HR in 86 games. Prorated to 162 games, that's 26 HR's. His 2019 stats prorate to 27 HR's.

    From Fangraphs: Tyler gained about three ticks on his heater and slider in 2021, which helped him blossom from an org guy into a legitimate relief prospect. The righty comes at hitters straight over the top with a cutter that carries more than you’d guess based on the pitch’s spin rate and efficiency, and he pairs it with a vertically-oriented, almost 12-6 slider. His game basically boils down to tunneling those two offerings, as the other three pitches are mostly ornamental. He projects as an up-and-down spot starter or long reliever.

    It's not about the lack of titles, it's about not being able to have players that you can reliably root for year in and year out. When it's just a never ending stream of hired guns, I think the enjoyment of following a team is kind of diminished.

    @ByChrisMason Had a long chat with Xander Bogaerts about cutting a deal with Scott Boras back in '19. For all of the noise about maximizing his value, I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if he still just wants to stay in Boston. Offer him a fair extension now ($30M AAV) and see where it goes.

    I think he'll call up Casas regardless of JDM being on the roster. Dalbec probably should be a DH.

    They would need to win another WS quickly before it really turns fans off. Rooting for laundry is dumb. You need to have some guys that just stick around from year to year (Yaz, Rice, Evans, Pedroia, Ortiz). When guys like Boggs, Clemens and Betts leave when they still have several years of production left in them, it really sours the fans IMO.
