  1. Yes, the chances are that he needs some major pitch recognition adjustments prior to getting to BOS.
  2. Uh? In Castellanos' age 30 season, he put up -0.7 fWAR. That contract could be bad.
  3. I'd say that even the rivalry with the Yankees doesn't really get me excited anymore. It's just more annoying to deal with Yankees fans than anything else. I will say that there have been recent smoke signals about bad feelings coming from writers that follow the Red Sox regarding the chance that Devers re-signs.
  4. The AFL is a hitters league, but Yorke needs a feather in his cap after his disastrous 2022.
  5. I think the "hit almost anything" starts to become obsolete as he faces advances pitching.
  6. They aren't going to "sign" any impact players this offseason as I don't believe any are out there that interest the Sox. Correa instead of Bogey?
  7. I mean, bringing back Beni doesn't solve all of the problems, but it upgrades them at one of their positions of needs. What's the problem. We can say "how does this make them MUCH better" but also say "how did they get so MUCH worse" than 2021. To me, if they can get a rotation that is likely to be more healthy, they'll find more success and have a better chance to be in contention down the stretch. Once there, it's just about being hot at the right time and making the right moves to fill in the gaps. In 2022, they were basically out of it when Hill and Wacha went out on IL. They started the year with Sale on the IL and the team initially struggled to find itself, but the team started to play well and looked like the season was making a turn, but the Wacha/Hill and later Eovaldi injuries really put the nail in it. Also, field a competitive bullpen.
  8. Um, Fred Flintstone lived in the Stone Age. The Honeymooners was a tv show that aired in the 1950's. The 1950's existed long after the Stone Age. Duh.
  9. Not according to our Bible (Fangraphs).
  10. I hope so, but we'll have to see as he advances. Some scouts have expressed doubts about his approach. We'll see.
  11. DLew had a career k rate of 11%. I think Rafaela will show more power, but will have a much higher k rate to go with it.
  12. He had the nation in the palm of his hands and just took the wrong road. After the SI cover, it was all downhill. Two thumbs down! Spudboy should have run him over.
  13. Uh... 2018-2022 among all OFers 13.5 dWAR ranks 23rd 452 SLG ranks 47th
  14. https://twitter.com/BigSoxGuy/status/1583525275240841216 I guess Rafaela's defense is ok.
  15. @NBCSEdgeBB McCullers pushed to Game 4 after champagne mishap Hate when that happens!
  16. Dream big.
  17. Bello is Pitcher of the Year
  18. Gurriel is already 38? Pass on LHB Vogelbach as he's really a DH only guy now. I know a certain CT poster who would love to have Pollack come to the Sox.
  19. Not Nomar!
  20. I've just seen Mancini's name thrown around and I agree with you. He could come at a discount though. His name has more value than his production.
  21. If he could hit .250 with an 8% bb rate, he's a major leaguer.
  22. BTV has him listed as "medium" FWIW.
  23. Roman Anthony has the same value per BTV, but I see no reason the Sox would give up on a guy like Anthony that early on for one year of Winker.
  24. Pretty sure he still kept his 813 number being Tampa North and all.
