  1. People still remember 2018 Benintendi. That guy and that potential doesn't exist anymore.
  2. I wish I was getting team swag for this.
  3. Again, the nation doesn't just consist of radio talk show callers.
  4. Kavadas' OPS is at 1.223 after 25 games in GVL.
  5. I listened to so many Los Doyers games when living in LA. Never cared for the team, but loved Vin. He was the greatest. No doubt about it. They will never again put out a baseball product like that.
  6. He looked ok in 2020? Maybe he can do it again? At this point they need to at least give it a shot. I'd rather put him there than CF that's for sure. LF Pham/Duran CF JBJ RF Verdugo This alignment makes a little bit more sense for now. JBJ can make up for some of the zone deficiencies of LF/RF.
  7. Hosmer was basically free and just covers us for the rest of the season. The Sox can trade him in the offseason or next year when Casas is ready as they only owe him the minimum. Looks like they are going to try Verdugo in RF again? IDK.
  8. Yeah, it's the trade deadline. Shouldn't they be worried about making deals rather than just travelling with the team.
  9. Posters were complaining about receiving 23 year old AA prospects yesterday. Groome is 23 and in AA this year he had a 4.46 BB/9 and a 4.90 FIP. His k rate also plummeted. He got healthy, but just isn't pitching very well. A straight up trade of Groome for the two Padres prospects could probably be reasonable at this point as it clears a 40 man spot.
  10. He'll be 33 next year and hasn't been a 1 fWAR guy since prior to the SDP deal. No way does he opt out. If he does, no way does he get a deal better than 3/39. It's not going to happen. When JBJ signed his 2/24 deal, he came off a 1.8 year in 2019 and a 1.6 shortened year in 2020. JBJ was twice the player Hosmer was AND 3 years younger.
  11. Ball couldn't blame it on an injury though. Groome was a very good prospect prior to the injury.
  12. Mediocre defensive and aging catcher that was horrible running on the basepaths and his contract was up in two months anyway.
  13. Why would he opt out of the remaining guaranteed money?
  14. His curve isn’t what it was prior to TJS. His velo on his FB never came back either. Even SoxProspects, who are typically higher on everyone, were down on him this year. Only person who still like him was moon.
  15. C+ Didn’t lose anything. Didn’t really gain much.
  16. Source: SD is paying Hosmer down to the minimum. They are sending Sox about $44m. LOL
  17. Not really. Stuff wasn’t good anymore.
  18. https://twitter.com/PortlandSeaDogs/status/1554492624320581632 Defensive highlight for Rafaela.
  19. Undisclosed as of yet.
  20. Also not a Sox deal.
  21. @ChrisCotillo Christian Vázquez said the door is open for him to return to the Red Sox in free agency this winter.
  22. @ChrisCotillo Christian Vázquez wanted to soak up one last BP session in a Red Sox uniform after learning he had been traded. Alex Cora obliged. "He asked me, ‘Hey, can I go take batting practice?’ I said, ‘Of course, you’re part of the family.’" https://www.masslive.com/redsox/2022/08/christian-vazquez-asked-alex-cora-for-one-last-bp-in-a-red-sox-uniform-and-the-manager-obliged-of-course-youre-part-of-the-family.html When Vázquez emerged for an awkward batting practice session that doubled as his final act as a Red Sox uniform, he knew his 14-year run in the organization had come to an end. The Red Sox -- contrary to how it looked as it played out -- weren’t hanging Vázquez out to dry.
  23. It's been ugly. There's no getting around it. Maybe they'll be watchable again?
