  1. Why?
  2. Also, "ask them." You BDC guys really know how to foster a discussion huh...
  3. 3M. Beni + 3M Cordero, Winckowski, De La Rosa, Gambrell, Valdez From 21-22, Beni provided about 25M in surplus value. From 21-22, the Sox lost 8M just by putting Cordero in the lineup. If Winckowski just ends up being Anthony Ranaudo, this just ends up being a pie in the face.
  4. Got it. 11 years is a LONG contract. I like Turner, but YEEEESH...
  5. He was the backup for the Twins if Correa goes elsewhere and maybe for the Diamondbacks. LA was maybe mentioned. Padres only wanted him if he could move off SS.
  6. No. Bogaerts: 10/1/92 Turner: 6/30/93
  7. Turner is better than Bogey. If the owner will pay, you sign the better player.
  8. That was supposed to be the Xander landing spot...
  9. If the budget was so tight, why'd they even eat 3M of Beni's salary?
  10. Yes, but not me.
  11. They acquired Renfroe before Beni was traded. Sox cleared up 4M, but still paid him 3 to play elsewhere. His total contract was 7. https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/new-york-yankees/andrew-benintendi-17622/cash-earnings/
  12. They weren't signing deGrom or Verlander.
  13. I expected more. Is that the best a Yalie can do?
  14. “Baseball. If there's a more beautiful word in the English language. I have yet to hear it....baseball has served as such a powerful link between Dad and me, and later between me and my son.” He loved baseball, but I don't know how long he played.
  15. I don't think the argument that "he did the best he could" is all that significant.
  16. It would depend on where the rest of the money was spent. Andrus 35.1 fWAR, 3.5 last season and will be MUCH cheaper than Swanson. Steamer projects 1.9 fWAR at 10M. He'll give you SURPLUS value. Considering how much Swanson could cost, he may give you negative value in 2023.
  17. “Oh, I have three kids and no money. Why can’t I have no kids and three money?” - Chaim Bloom January 2020
  18. If the discussion is limited to only known deals, we can only talk about the potatoes we are aware of.
  19. Porcello just announced retirement. He had stepped away from the game to be with his family, but now it is permanent. Congrats!
  20. No, that's not how lying works.
  21. I'm firing your quote button.
  22. One reported offer: Padres The team plans to send Wil Myers plus two young major leaguers and one prospect in a potential deal for the All-Star. The options at the major league level include one outfielder between Manuel Margot and Josh Naylor and one starting pitcher between Cal Quantrill and Joey Lucchesi. Or what about just the Dodgers offer: Betts/Price for Verdugo/Graterol Is Graterol a better haul than Wong/Downs? Is that a fair criticism?
  23. According to Pete Abraham, it was and the fans were being lied to. We'll have to see where the chips fall. I think the Sox have a tendency to do too much PR and it ends up making them look foolish in the end.
  24. The Reply With Quote button isn't a disagree button.
