  1. There were known issues. Bloom had no backup plan. I'm not mad at Story. I'm upset that Bloom seemingly has no idea how to fill the middle of the infield.
  2. The bullpen is good. The lineup is interesting, but missing another power bat. The defense now has no RFer for Fenway, an oft injured 2B and no SS. It's a mess defensively. The starting rotation is a big question mark as it has a high ceiling, but a very low floor.
  3. Best I can do is a AAAA 1B/DH and some DFA'd relievers. Maybe there's a Yu Chang hanging around somewhere?
  4. You should have just listened to Bellhorn last week.
  5. Resetting in a throwaway year.
  6. I mean, there were questions about the signing from day one. If the signing doesn't work out OF COURSE IT'S ON BLOOM.
  7. Rafaela isn't ready today. If he becomes ready, they push him to CF and Kiké goes to SS. Arroyo just can't handle a fulltime workload. At some point, we may see Rafaela in CF and Mayer at SS this season. People will say I'm crazy, but that's what I'm going with. I think Mayer's bat is more likely to be MLB ready than Rafaela's.
  8. My guess: 2B: They run out Arroyo SS: They get Iggy or another cheap option as a stop gap, Mayer rakes and keeps raking and is pushed to MLB after trade deadline ala Devers 2017
  9. CRACK medical staff.
  10. I mean, they clearly aren't. They are trying to win another 77 - 83 games.
  11. His arm was an issue when they signed him. That's the reason he was moved off of SS. It's the reason all along I said they shouldn't even remotely think of moving him back to SS. I'm not surprised he ended up having an issue.
  12. You wanted him to play SS no matter what this year because that's what they signed him for.
  13. Mazz announced that he will not be back in the booth doing Sox games this year! Things are looking up in ‘23!
  14. He’ll be the 3B through 2027 at least.
  15. Not good since early 2018? 2018-2019: 10 fWAR His 2019 season would be a godsend to this staff right now. We’d do backflips.
  16. Was that my argument? Don’t remember mentioning Paxton.
  17. Eovaldi doesn’t have that great of a track record either. Aside from 2021, he’s just an ok pitcher.
  18. Not sure people even read the New Testament anymore.
  19. Burning Bauer at the stake?
  20. And Sale will probably be as good as 2023 Eovaldi or Wacha at least.
  21. Kluber is better than Eovaldi or Wacha. Turner is as good as JD is today. JD has fallen off mightily. The issue is they replaced Xander with a big question mark. I don’t see Yoshida as the replacement. Mayer would be the replacement in 2024.
  22. Or had just left one of them as the closer and kept them there all year.
