    Listed on MLB Pipeline's 30 prospects that will breakout in 23: Red Sox: Miguel Bleis, OF (No. 5) Boston's best international prospect since Rafael Devers, Bleis signed for $1.5 million out of the Dominican Republic in 2021. A center fielder with the potential for solid or better tools across the board, he's ready for a big full-season debut after batting .301/.353/.542 with 23 extra-base hits and 18 steals in 40 games in the Rookie-level Florida Complex League.

    I wouldn't want him in RF unless I didn't have another option either. Also, Arroyo was there as a platoon for JBJ.

    You can't count MiLB guys as RHH pickups. He wasn't even on the 40 man at the start of the year.

    I think they traded for JBJ and hoped he would be a fulltime RFer. I think they saw his bat in ST and realized that it wasn't there anymore and had to figure out plan B.

    What does that have to do with anything? During the regular season Vaz was buried on the bench in HOU. They could have re-signed Vaz in the offseason if they wanted to.

    Sending Bello to AAA just wastes his bullets. If anything, you just push one of the guys to the pen or you go with a 6 man rotation.

    Who said 270 innings? Only 8 pitchers threw 200 or more last season. Only one threw over 210.

    Bello's innings aren't impacted by the rest of the staff, the bullpen's innings are.

    It wasn't a "bad idea" but I think they ended up using him too much in RF and waited too long in ST before they tried the experiment out. It really ended up being a last second decision. According to the below story, he didn't even start working on RF until the last two weeks of ST.     He's not going to be on an innings limit. He may not get to 180 innings because of performance, but for moon to say "we don't want Bello throwing 180+" is silly to me. If Bello gets above 180, it's because he's having a very good year.

    Turner is basically DH only going forward and backup 3B. His defense is fallen off since he's almost 40. Pablo was 28 and Hanley was 31 when they signed as FA. Wendle '22: 2B 33 games SS 34 games 3B 43 games (his worst defensive stats too) Wendle comes in to platoon with Arroyo at 2B and just fill in as a UTIL guy. Story would be fulltime SS.

    When has an OFer ever been converted to 1B before? I can't think of one. Quite the novel idea Bloom came up with!

    Bello pitched 153 innings last season. Why can't he pitch 180 this year?
