If the Sox are a middling team but there are big years from Yoshida, Casas, Bello and other future pieces, Henry may be convinced to keep Bloom.

I disagree about the dice rolls working in 2022. Forming a rotation around Paxton, Wacha, Hill stressed out the bullpen and the IL. With an injured Sale, Chaim needed to acquire more sure bets for the rotation. Regression from Nate, JD and Kiké certainly didn't help.

Mondesi is still not officially on the 60 day IL. The only move that is official is that Duran was sent to WOO. Other corresponding moves have not been announced.

There is a way in which the Sox don't make the playoffs and Bloom keeps his job. If the team is an absolute s*** show, he is most likely gone.

Posters bagged on Vazquez as being a bad CERA guy. Plawecki was supposedly the good one, but he was horrendous last year. Varitek speaks very highly of McGuire, so I think we need to at least give him a full season before we dump on him too much.

Politi is fine in AAA. Maybe he can earn his way to an MLB callup at some point. He's just not quite there yet.

I had wondered if it was heading there the other day. He hasn’t participated in a game. There are no reports of him working out. The updated rumor comes tonight from the Globe’s Julian McWilliams “per sources.” He doesn’t mention any updates about Ort. Earlier DFA rumor was inaccurate it seems.

The rumor is Mondesi to 60 Day IL and Tapia to the 40 Man.

@gfstarr1 A little Red Sox prospects news: Ceddanne Rafaela will begin the 2023 MiLB season in Double-A Portland. @SPChrisHatfield Almost speculated this earlier (and if our website editing access weren't down, we'd have updated this projection last night), as he didn't head north with the Worcester guys this weekend. Camp showed he still has plenty to work on. Meanwhile, crowded group in Worcester.

@jcmccaffrey The Red Sox got right-hander AJ Politi back from the Orioles today. Politi had been taken in the Rule 5 draft in December but didn’t make Baltimore’s active roster.
