  1. This team is better this year because they are not swing first take walk second. Their approach is way better than last year.
  2. Some eye tests are biased towards the April games I guess?
  3. Especially if they get real close to a WS, but just miss out.
  4. He was just not producing in April at all. Will take him a long time to pull his way out of the hole if you’re only looking at season numbers. My eye test was telling me that he was hitting the ball pretty damn hard and taking a lot of walks. Seems like a good foundation to me!
  5. May OPS now at 864. His was bad in April, that’s why his overall numbers look like s***. As we’ve said, he’s doing the right things in the box.
  6. Reyes 0.0 fWAR Valdez 0.1 fWAR (-3 DRS, -4 OAA BRUTAL) Chang 0.2 fWAR
  7. @PeteAbe In other rehab news, Yu Chang is batting second and DH'ing for Portland tonight.
  8. Barrel % 84th percentile Av Exit Velo 73rd percentile Max Exit Velo 73red percentile His xWOBA the past 100 PA's has been pretty good. His bad April is dragging down his overall numbers. 797 May OPS
  9. I was hopeful that Mayer was going to rocket through the system, but he started off a little slow this year. He's probably not going to get to BOS until 2024.
  10. I wouldn't worry too much about Arroyo. He makes a good platoon partner for Valdez and spends too much time on the IL anyway.
  11. @PeteAbe Christian Arroyo is batting second and DH'ing for Worcester tonight. First game of his rehab assignment.
  12. You can talk about "cherry-picking" time frames, but he also only threw 2 QS over 25 games from 7/1/22 to present day. That is a really long stretch. Ignore all the other numbers. It's not simply about a few starts dragging down the overall picture.
  13. Complaining about how he's pitching from 7/1/22 - today, sure! Why not? It was a good trade, but that's besides the point. He shouldn't be in the rotation right now.
  14. "Ohtani is our #1 priority." Sox sign Alex Wood for his veteran presence instead.
  15. He really suck-diddly-ucked. It's been horrible.
  16. He'll be promoted Late June/Early July most likely.
  17. Might. Might not. We could have another fun filled Bloom offseason to look forward to. Maybe we'll get to accidentally go over the CBT AND miss the postseason again!
  18. If they upped it enough, sure.
  19. Well, it's a true statement that it doesn't mean that he won't, but it's also a statement that has very little utility.
  20. His "dumpster diving" contract was 1/10. In the inflated 2022/23 offseason, that's the same contract Kluber got.
  21. Bloom has had a few swing and misses since coming here. Richards comes to mind.
  22. If he pitched like last year right now, we'd get no complaints here about him. Kluber pitched more innings, had a better k%, better bb%, better EV than Wacha last year. Signs pointed to him being better than Wacha in 2023. He just is no longer able to control the zone.
  23. Not by the one true stat: fWAR.
  24. Reporting in from JUST south south west of Boston!
  25. Coffey probably gets into the top 60 in the next rankings. I don't see any reason to start a hype train for him though.
